[W:369]Kavanaugh accused of more unwanted sexual contact by former classmate

I've read early in the thread that no whataboutisms are welcome in the thread and that if you want to start a thread about another president, go start a thread on that president; (Clinton, Obama).

This thread is about Kavanaugh.
Trixare4kids, I think that term was originally directed to me by one of the favorites here. I don't mind. I think this thread is losing steam so I personally don't mind if the kiddies want to have some fun. I always held the vp that if you can't be educated then at least go for entertainment. Just saying. :) But you are making some good points.

Exactly. The WH gave the FBI a list of 8...I think...people they were "allowed" to interview. Not one of those people were on the list of those whom Dr. Ford said could corroborate her story. Not one. Dr. Ford herself was not on that list, and the FBI never interviewed her. The interviews of those who the WH "allowed" took less than 3 days. Three ****ing days.

Add to that Lindsey Graham's dismal theatrics as he tossed out the "lawyer" who'd questioned Dr. Ford and when Kavanaugh was back threw questions like he was Kav's personal lawyer doing a direct examination, testifying through those questions, making statements and a closing argument, then gaveling the hearing closed.

It's that "investigation" that should be investigated... except that the WH and the DOJ will continue to obstruct, block, and corruptly control that "investigation" too. The extent of obstruction and corruption will probably not be revealed in my lifetime; but eventually it will be revealed, and I hope that steps will be taken to keep this kind of authoritarian slap in the face of our constitutional republic from ever happening again.
IMHO, the issues with Kavanaugh go beyond these sexual assault claims.

A little known fact of history is that it was Kavanaugh who drafted the Starr reports graphic detail of the affair between Lewinsky and Clinton. He insisted the report detail those things and in fact, wanted to question Clinton to such graphic questions such as "Is it true you ejaculated semen in Ms Lewinsky's mouth?", before Starr had to literally put a leash on him and tell him no.

Yes, that's right. Ken Starr thought Kavanaugh was taking things too far.

It was also Kavanaugh who kept the rumor that the Clinton's murdered their friend Vince Foster, despite three separate probes already concluding there was no foul play.

I'm not saying Kavanaugh is guilty based on these accusations yet, but it's VERY hypocritical for him to complain about being the target of salacious rumors, when he was a partisan POS, who was in the business of spreading smut and mud against the Clinton's in the 90's.

The fact that he couldn't take his own medicine during his confirmation, demonstrates that he's really a little bitch.

IDK, seems to me he had every right to forcefully defend himself and in doing so he came out the victor.

Nice avatar btw. :)

Oh Barnacle’s right wing rag web****e linking to another right wing web****e. Yes nevermind indeed

Trix refers to my link from the Yale Daily News ... but it's funny you calling it a right wing rag web(whatever) when you don't even know what you're talking about.

:lamo

As in most cases such as these it will be his word against hers. Unless actual witnesses who were present can corroborate. Its on the record that the man like to pull out his pecker to impress the ladies. Explains why he never got laid in college.
Its not even his word against hers she has no recollection of what stiers claims she was a victim of. Its mindboggling that people are running with a story this week.

She does not remember it happening, stiers wont go on record about it. The NYTs is running with what two friends of his said was told to them by him. Apparently that is enough for the times to run a story when it smears someone they are not politically aligned with.

It makes perfect sense that an investigation that was allowed the proper time to investigates the charges and not a right wing rush to judgement to facilitate a pre determined outcome would find damaging information about Kavanaugh. As far as I can see, the Times effort is the first real one.

LOL, but Trump lies all the time - how can you believe HIM? I also guarantee you that the Republicans that consider the NYT "the paper of record" could hold a convention in a PortaPotty.

So true! :funny

They can try all they want, but as with all other tries of theirs, this is another losing proposition for them; another ****show, another day.
As usual, they have nothing other than they want their guy on the supreme court instead of Kavanaugh.
More importantly they want to concince voters that if you vote for republicans next election your voting to put sexual offenders on the bench. Thats what this is about.

Where did I speculate anything? I just pointed out he hires only females, and I think it's weird.

I've already pointed out to you his reasons why he picks only female clerks. He is promoting women. What is weird about this?

I don't think you actually read it, because you're wrong.

I wasn't talking to you, and yes, I did read all of Barnacle's posts, and her linked article.
Did you? If you did you wouldn't have liked bomberfox's post where he called her source a "right wing rag".

Glad I could help.

Kavanaugh has had 5 extensive FBI background checks throughout his career for the many positions he served. Nothing came up when he worked in the WH nor when he was appointed to Circuit Judge of Court of Appeals .

Strange this new allegation comes up after Blasey Ford's attorney was caught on tape pretty much making statements that amount to perjury. You want to talk FBI investigations? My bet is the FBI is certainly looking into Ford's attorney over her statements about Kavanaugh and Blasey Ford's real intent.

What is going on is character assassination because Kavanaugh is pro life, The leftists want an asterisk next to his name so Kavanaugh will always be seen with a cloud over his head one they created.

He is young and will be on the bench for many years. Go pound sand.

This thread is about the Supreme Court membership.

You said elections (plural meaning more than one) have consequences. Not if they are stolen there aren't.

Ok, I realize that you believe this election was stolen, but I'll agree to disagree and won't go off topic to discuss why that is.

The Yale Daily News is a right wing rag? Since when?

It's noteworthy that the anti-Kavanaugh crowd is ignoring comments made by Ford's attorney.
(unless I've missed them, that is)

The comment was made about the SC seat and the consequences of the Obama election which were thwarted by the Republicans.

Of course they are it doesn't fit well into their "agenda'.

I would like to read a bit more about these 2 points. Can you give me some links, please.

Thank you!

I was totally being sarcastic. I guess I will have to use the emoji more because I wasn't being serious at all. I was attempting to do a spoof on a previous comment made to you.

From my perspective the left seems to be going all in on this election. They are pulling out all the stops like these latest kavanaug allegations. If Trump wins again and if the republicans in general pick up seats, i wonder what the response is going to be?

Im not talking about the preictable reaction of doomsday and the end of the republic. Both sides engage in those theatrics after they lose a big election.

Im wondering about what their strategy is looking forward to next cycle. Do they continue to double down on something that has failed or do they take a step back and recalibrate their message.

Do we move a step closer to civility or civil war?

I pray the former.

Of course, it's all political and has been since Trump nominated Kavanaugh.

Had the Republicans on the candidates hearing committee not withheld almost 90% of Kavanaugh's written documents the confirmation hearings would not have turned into a sexual exploits freak show in the attempt to prevent an unqualified appointment to the SC. Those documents would have shown why Kavanaugh was not Supreme Court material.

McConnell's prevention of an Obama appointee didn't help and Republicans knowing that any nominee would get an intense scrutiny from Democrats on the committee should have nominated a better candidate.

There were/are plenty of Republican judges of wisdom, integrity and standing that could have been nominated. Kavanaugh has been, for most of his life, a self-centered, political hack, of limited ability and integrity that believed carrying water for politicians earned him the right to be seated on the Supreme Court.

I'm afraid that more damning information will eventually surface and the subsequent attempts at impeachment successful or not , will just cheapen the prestige and authority of the SC and create another embarrassing mess.
