To this day I do not know why Kavanaugh simply did not admit to boyish and boorish acts of stupidity when he was a young man and apologize for it.
This would have then been placed all behind him and we would have been done with it. Now we go through this again.

Because he had nothing to admit to or apologize for.

"Failed to get" the nomination that was his to make.

And McConnell has said that if a seat opens up for trump in the same window he will allow it to move forward

So he's a hypocrit.

But that's ok with you.

dems wouldn't even allow votes for two men who had the votes in the senate to be seated. So what are you complaining about? That Mitch decided to play hardball with the people who started the nonsense of essentially filibustering two men with impeccable credentials? Payback .

Actually it has relevance to your perpetual distress over mistreatment of Kavanaugh while simultaneously dismissing any mistreatment to Martin. One of who actually misbehaved as an adolescent...the other there is no proof.

Feel free to drop out of the conversation. I agree it is unlikely to get to any new revelations. Have a good one!

uh I never really commented much about Martin at all: I bashed Zimmerman when it happened as being stupid and he should have done what the authorities told him

Oh sure.

Y'all would have been done with it...

This one is easy. He genuinely thought he was innocent of this particular act.

This would have then been placed all behind him and we would have been done with it. Now we go through this again.
This is as wrong as it is possible to be. If he gives an inch it will hound him the rest of his career.

So anyway, the whole thing's yet another Clinton hit job.

And people wonder why those two are so utterly despised...

Oh sure.

Y'all would have been done with it...

I suspect it would have been the end of it when he was voted on the Court - and he still would have been.

It sounds like he was attempting to provide several inches.

The Democrats are getting their clocks clean by many recent Supreme Court decisions. The trend does not look good in terms of all the Democrats positions. Judge Ginsberg does not look to healthy and if Trump gets to replace her, the Democrat swamp is toast. They need a desparate fake news strategy to stop the bleeding. If they could theoretically get rid of Kavanaugh, but hook or crook, they can stop the bleeding. But the need to alter the count goes even deeper than that.

The Democrats never apologized for the collision delusion, since this was a coup from the beginning. Nobody is sorry and everyone is avoiding any apology, since they all fear an apology will make them culpable. With the collusion delusion trials about to begin with the indictment of McCabe, and with many high level Democrats vulnerable, the current Supreme Court offer no means for them to escape justice. They have written off the 2020 presidential bid to Trump. They are desperately trying to change the court, so they can escape justice. This current tactic will not work, but they have to try, since Hillary, Obama and many top level others do not wish to go to jail for their failed coup. Appeals will only buy time. but will not change the happy ending, if the current court stands.

"... In 1994, Kavanaugh joined the legal team, led by Kenneth Starr, that was looking into President Bill Clinton’s real estate dealings as part of the Whitewater investigation. Later that decade, Kavanaugh co-wrote the Starr Report, which established broad grounds for Clinton’s impeachment.

Those proceedings pitted Kavanaugh against a former Yale classmate, Max Stier ’87, a fellow member of Stiles College who was one of several attorneys representing Clinton during the investigation."

While Kavanaugh was a member, DKE flew under the radar

Nice catch.

So you are claiming Kavanaugh called you a liar"

or do you claim-as some of the anti Kavanaugh hysterics claimed --that If I don't believe or find the allegations about Kavanaugh sufficient to derail his appointment, I am DENYING that those hysterics were every assaulted, groped, raped, or dumped by some man some place in some time?

He didn’t call me a liar. The GOP turned it into an issue of his rights some how being violated if his reputation were sullied. In reality, they didn’t believe any of women, called them liars, and mismanagement what should have been a serious investigation.

See where Trump wants Kavanaugh to sue for "liable". Liable to do what exactly?

ONLY? what is the average age of someone seeking a supreme court clerkship?

have any of those clerks claimed he has assaulted them

He can’t find a fit male for the job? I find it hard to believe. If somebody ever treated his daughters the way women say he has treated them, then maybe he will understand

But that's ok with you.

There's a difference.
I'm not suggesting there's no hypocrisy - because in politics there always is - but as long as there's that difference it can't be said to be conclusive.
Do you know what that difference is?

Yup, you are definitely impartial here.

Yep. You can tell when Turtle starts calling people names like "Slutnick" and "Two Door Ford" that he is losing it. I can see him sitting at his desk, right now. Nostrils flaring, hair blowing all over like Bernie Sanders, pounding on the keyboard, sweating, etc.

I don't know, Cardinal. All I can say is if I was held accountable for the stupid things I did in HS i wouldn't survive such scrutiny, either. I like to think that I"ve outgrown such behavior.

Did you sexually assault several people, Moot? Because this goes farther than puking on the teacher's shoes at the dance, or urinating on the away team's goalpost.

This is serious, and the victims carry with them the affects of this for the rest of their lives.

Someone who drinks a lot and doesn't remember their actions.

Kavanaugh got into Yale because he had connections...

"...After graduating from Georgetown Prep in 1983,[28] Kavanaugh went to Yale University, as had his paternal grandfather.[29][30]..."

Brett Kavanaugh - Wikipedia

Yeah, Yale does that. They get a lot of unqualified people in, just because they are legacies or because their fathers have enough money to buy them in. This "school scandal" we are hearing about on the news has been going on for years and years.

Actually it pretty much nailed the hypocrisy of many posters. I can imagine you do not want to be seen as a hypocrite so you continue to mischaracterize what was said. It was an observation about behavior and had nothing to do with "differing legal standards"

There is no evidence at all that Travon Martin was a thug. It is useful for him to be unfairly characterized as such, like by calling his Thuggon.

I'm sure you will gather the same group of supporters for your cause...the most devoted have already arrived.

Sorry for mis posting....this was directed to TD post mischaracterizing Kavanaugh Martin comparison....AGAIN.

Good luck. Half the board told him what my comparison was about, and all he could do was toss around his resume, and tell me I knew nothing about the law, when my comparison had nothing to do with the law, and everything to do with "why was Trayvon Martin considered an adult at 17 and Brett Kavanaugh considered a kid?"

He could not come up with a valid answer, so he tossed about his resume and called everybody stupid for a year.

The end.

Hard to say, especially since it's been revealed that so many wealthy parents have by passed SAT scores and paid enormous sums to get their under achieving children kids into college. How long has that been going on is the real question?

Funny that you ask Turtle that.

Deep down, part of him knows that defending an indefensible person is wrong. But, that spark is tiny and being smothered by hubris. What the republicans did is, once again, shameful.
