He came forward during the hearings but only now has it been made public. His allegations were reported to the FBI but they didn't investigated it.

    From the OP...

"...The New York Times reported Saturday that the latest allegation, which has until now not been public, was reported to the FBI during Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation process last year but was not investigated by the FBI.

In the Times report, two FBI officials told the newspaper that a Yale classmate of Kavanaugh's, D.C.-based nonprofit owner Max Stier, said that he had witnessed Kavanaugh expose himself at a party before other students pushed Kavanaugh's genitals into the hand of a female student, apparently without her consent.

The Hill has reached out to the Supreme Court for comment.

Stier did not speak publicly about the story, according to the Times, but two officials reportedly corroborated his account to the FBI with the newspaper...

I don't think he was acting like a partisan as you claim.

Oh! He was a known witness then? That changes things. He was obviously either buried intentionally, or the FBI simply didn't have the time and moved on as the GOP slammed the door.

The real kick in the teeth, for those who have integrity, is how many Republican Senators knew of him and chose Party loyalty over country. Kavanaugh, like the others, is supposed to be America's Supreme judge, not the GOP's political judge. Before this, they refused to consider a seated President's nominee for an entire year in 2016, until Trump was the new seated president in 2017. This was a first in American history, by the way. That, along with this, and we can clearly see court-packing, which is a decrepit tactic famous among "****-hole" countries.

Talk of impeaching Kavanaugh at this point is ludicrous; there's no hard evidence. There is, however, evidence that he lied at both of his judicial confirmation hearings, and two individuals who professed to have that evidence were shunted aside and the FBI never followed up on the allegations.

I want to know exactly what the FBI was and was not allowed to investigate regarding both of Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings, and who, if anyone, gave them orders to stonewall and ignore allegations of perjury against him. That is what needs to be done now because it will take months and/or years for congressional investigations to get to the bottom of this, and they have quite enough on their plate at the moment.

As for the Dems, they've got an election to win, which will be difficult enough while they are so divided on impeaching Trump (not impossible, but stupid since he'd be acquitted by the senate) and will only make Democratic candidates more vulnerable during the 2020 election.

That's my take on this mess, FWIW.
If these allegations are true, he should definitely be impeached after proper investigation. As you pointed out, he has also lied. Any elected Republican with a spine and principles would agree. I know it’s far into the future and not going to be easy, and may never happen. It is still the right thing to do, and our leaders doing the right thing is asking for too much today.

The GOP has no spine and has been totally corrupted under the Trump Administration. Had Lindsay Graham and GOP done the right thing from the beginning, the issue would have been actually investigated. Instead, they lied, misled, grandstands, and played the whole “fix is in.”

Even if a Democrat wins, correcting the errors of the Trump Administration and exposing the full corruption of Trump and the Kavanaugh handling is going to be a massive hurdle. The DOJ has been weaponized by the right wing. The right wing has fully backed Trump for political wins and court appointments, and Trump is a savior to the right wing base. At some point, the country needs to figure out how to defeat an entire party overrun by sycophancy, wide spread corruption, and cult of personality.

The second a newly elected Democratic President tries to look into the matters or clean up this corruption, the party sycophants and base will go insane. Fox News and right wing radio will blast the paranoid rhetoric. The president will be called a dictator, and I see the typical “right to revolution” and gun waving.

Watching the Democratic primaries, some of them have well thought out plans. But none of them have a strategy on how to address and correct these errors. I fear, tribalism, mass corruption, lying, and political weaponization like we saw during the Kavanaugh hearings will be the new normal. It is about political wins now. Such a corrupt and divided system may serve the most powerful on both sides but it will alienate average people.

I do hope America figures this out. If not, the country and all it claims to stand for will be lost.

Yup. The entire process was a complete sham. I hope the Republicans realize they set a very bad and dangerous precedent that will come back to bite them.

This is likely what clenched the deal for Trump....

Jonathan Turley of George Washington University has stated that among the judges considered by Trump, "Kavanaugh has the most robust view of presidential powers and immunities".[155] Brian Bennett writing for Time magazine cites Kavanaugh's 2009 Minnesota Law Review article as defending the privilege of the President to immunity from prosecution during tenure in office.[155]...

This is an excellent post, and I do not disagree with any of it.

At the moment, I'm very frightened for the future of my country, and very sad.

Apparently the supposed victim doesn't even remember the attack. Now why on earth would a "respected" "unbiased" news organization make the claim in the first place if the "victim" declined to be interviewed and doesn't even recall the event? Facts don't even matter anymore, do they?

What specifically do you think will happen to say that America has lost "all it stands for"? What events and/or laws will be passed to show that America is "lost"?

Have you not been paying attention these last 10 years?

That’s what we said for 8 years during Obama. Buckle up. We intend to make sure you learn a lesson.
