This was already posted -- with the exact title and opinion piece -- in this forum.

Perhaps. But on a discussion forum it's messy (and against this forum's rules).

Well if you feel I'm intentionally breaking forum rules, you know what to do.

Isn't that just because Obama hadn't yet signed an agreement with the airport until near the end of Obama's presidency?

So, that would sort of be like saying, the number of deaths by cars were zero before cars were invented.. But once they were invented, they sure increased. It's a conspiracy!

Where are Obama’s business interests in this area? What is his agreement with Prestwick International?

Actually no. We have signed contracts with commercial airports for use when needed. It was never "needed" to refuel at a more expensive rate than a nearby military base.

Coincidentally this began to happen quite frequently after Trump took office, and he coincidentally was in a business partnership with the airport

Yes, Obama signed a contract with Prestwick in 2015. Then, the air force started using the airport more.

Air Force says it sent crews to Trump’s Scottish resort up to 40 times - POLITICO
But the Air Force has significantly ramped up its overnight stops in Scotland under Trump after signing a contract with the Prestwick Airport — situated 20-plus miles from Turnberry — in the waning months of the Obama administration. Since 2015, the service has lodged crews in the area 659 times, meaning up to 6 percent of those stays were at Turnberry.

In other words, after Obama signed an agreement, the AF used it more often for refueling. Is that really an unexpected development that the use of something might increase after an agreement is signed? No, but some people will continue to pretend that it is.

I couldn't possibly know the details. I can only tell you that it is being reported that Obama signed the contract with Prestwick in 2015.
