The national survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted August 11-12, 2019 by ScottRasmussen.com and HarrisX, a polling company specializing in online surveys (see Methodology and a Demographic Profile of the sample). Results from the full sample have +/-3.1 Margin of Sampling Error with a 95% level of confidence.

Mr. Rasmussen left the company in July 2013 and has had nothing whatsoever to do with the company since that time. Rasmussen Reports' core management team has been responsible for all polling and reporting for the past five years including the company’s successful 2014 and 2016 national election cycles.

About 'surveys', got this survey to do on my cellphone and laughed when I read the questions.

Readers responded with bemusement and skepticism in June 2019 after an “Official 2020 Trump vs Democrat Poll” emerged online and on social media, appearing to pose questions framed in a heavily anti-Democrat way.

For example, one survey question asked, “Who would you rather see fix our Nation’s shattered immigration policies? President Trump // A MS-13 loving Democrat,” while another somewhat tautological question asked: “Who would you trust to NOT raise your taxes? President Trump // A High Tax Democrat.”

Such bias in the questions, as well as some clear nods to Trump’s go-to insults against his political opponents (the poll referenced “a Lyin’ Democrat” and “a Low IQ Democrat”), prompted inquiries from Snopes readers who were uncertain whether they were reading a parody or hoax or an official Trump 2020 campaign poll. One reader asked, “Oh my gosh, is this really from the Trump campaign? Or some satire site?” while another wrote, “Is this for real? It sounds too crazy …”

The survey was indeed published by Trump’s official re-election campaign committee, on that campaign’s official website.

The poll sounds like a parody. It reads like The Onion. I could sure have fun doing a parody poll. But half the words would look like this ***y, F****g, b*****d. :lamo

Basically, the way I answered the poll claimed that I want to elect a man that will raise my taxes, leave our immigration policies shattered, not bother to protect me from foreign and domestic threats, and who I don't think will keep campaign promises. I answered every question to the contrary to Trump as being an option.

Gee, I don't know whether those were the questions asked of 1,000 people (many who were paid) that were surveyed by the other Rasmussen (that nobody cares about). The poll I mentioned is one I received yesterday. But yes, I can believe that it may also have been the questions asked on the telephone surveys. LOL!

Please don’t pay much attention to general election polls.

OK, this is more of a public service announcement than a surprising finding from a recent poll. But the last week or so has seemed to bring a flurry of attention to general election survey results. We don’t mean to be dismissive of other news organizations or pollsters. But as we’ve noted before, general election polls this far out are not particularly predictive. And polls that ask people if they would vote for Trump versus an unnamed Democratic candidate are even less useful. A real-life candidate — Biden or Warren or anyone else — has specific advantages and flaws that a generic Democrat does not.

So Democrats should not take comfort in the new national NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll in which 52 percent of Americans said either they would or were likely to vote for a generic Democratic candidate in 2020, while only 40 percent said they either would or were likely to vote for Trump. Similarly, Republicans shouldn’t take comfort in the new Crooked Media/Change Research poll that found Trump at 45 percent in Wisconsin, compared to 46 percent for an unnamed Democrat. (A nearly tied race in Wisconsin would suggest a super close race nationally.)

According to Zimmer's link, the ScottRasmussen poll is an online survey, doesn't use telephones. I have no idea how reliable it is. It strikes me as odd that the question is whether or not Trump will be re-elected in 2020 rather than whether or not the respondent will vote for him.

He'll probably win re-election in 2020 based on the fact that unseating incumbents is hard enough as it is, but also:

1) His fan base is much more loyal to him than any democratic candidate running.

2) When it comes down to it, conservatives and republicans will unite behind their candidate regardless if they align with him 100%

3) The opposite is more often than not true about liberals and democrats. Progressives have become some of the most unpragmatic people on earth; they've mastered the art of losing members of their coalition, and it's going to be more of a "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" situation like in 2016.

It's become impossible to respect the people who vote with this political movement.

I know Democrats have their share of stupid ideas, but the base of the Republican party borders on being mentally incapacitated.

We get **** anytime we question the intelligence of Republican voters, but this survey right here goes to show that even Republican media outlets think registered Republicans are pants on head stupid.
