President Trump will not be challenged in a primary. Never ever going to happen!
Fun to watch all the excitement about silly things like this!


The Trump reelection campaign's fundraising in Q2 is a staggering amount. In context, it is almost $30 million greater than then-President Barack Obama's $86 million at the same point in 2011.

Of course. I'm happy to see him in the primary. I'm just not sure of the sincerity of his reform. Would you like to see him as president?

Honestly, I don't really see that as a potential outcome, and I don't think he does either.

As for his sincerity, I believe that will be demonstrated by a willingness to run as a third party candidate. If nothing else, it's at least possible that the three candidates running as primary opponents now will grow into a torrent.

It would be fun to watch him run as a third party candidate and siphon votes off of Trump.

A primary challenge can weaken Trump, even if he wins it. That happened to Carter, and to GHW Bush.

He's got to know that he hasn't a chance to usurp Trump as the GOP nominee. It does make one wonder what exactly his game is here. And I doubt its about giving the media a circus. Trump guarantees that all by himself.

Yeah, but his rhetoric means nothing. The Conservative base won't give him the time of day. How does he not know this?

You are right though about the media creating plenty of buzz over it, but plenty of Republicans have criticized Donald Trump. It wouldn't be new. I believe they get called "RINOs" for their trouble. The GOP and right-wing donors have been running them out of Congress for over a decade now. It started with the Tea Party. Those who remain know to either keep their mouths shut, play along, or go out on a limb and end their political career.

I think what is relatively unique about this is that the challengers are starting to multiply well after Trump completely crushed all opposition at the end of 2017. That they would be challenging him now after what happened to Amash may be meaningful.

I don't think Walsh believes he'll win the Primary. I think he's just trying to start a larger movement against Trump, since discussion about Trump being bad for the Republican brand is otherwise nonexistent right now.

The best case scenario is that he, Weld or Sanford run as 3rd party candidates and siphon votes off of Trump. They'll give Republican voters a chance to exercise a conscience vote: somebody who shares their conservative values rather than a Democrat.

The worst case scenario is that they all become Amash-style speed bumps and nobody will be the worse for wear.

Walsh is a Republican. A real one, unlike that fraud Trump.

Good for Walsh. We need more people to point out how diseased Trump is, and how ignorant everyone who enables him is.
