Senate Confirms Judge Who Attacked Roe v. Wade, Called Being Transgender 'A Delusion' | HuffPost

WASHINGTON ― The Senate voted Wednesday to confirm Matthew Kacsmaryk to a lifetime federal judgeship despite his record of hostility toward LGBTQ rights and abortion rights.

The Senate voted 52-46 to put Kacsmaryk, 42, onto the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Every Democrat present voted no. Every Republican present but one, Susan Collins (Maine), voted yes.

This is why elections matter. The power hungry GOP, bereft of human decency, are just doing what they've done for decades - trying to turn back the clock to the 1950's.

No - most of the blame for this goes to the Dem establishment that "shouldered out" Bernie in favor of the hildebeast and to the Dems who were angry about it and/or who didn't vote or voted 3rd party.

Again, elections matter!

Trump made the open seats in the federal courts a top priority to include 2 Supreme court seats!

Donald Trump has secured the future of our American courts

Donald Trump has secured the future of our American courts | TheHill

Today, we celebrate the anniversary of his confirmation and honor the scores of jurists appointed by President Trump who serve faithfully to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law. President Trump knows this is a priority for voters. Before the 2016 election, 65 percent of voters said Supreme Court appointments were “very important” to their decisions. Ahead of the 2018 midterms, 76 percent of voters said the same.

President Trump kept his promise to the American people by choosing two strong jurists, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, for the highest court in the nation. That was just the beginning. His first term in office has been marked by a historic reshaping of the judiciary at an incredible pace. President Trump has delivered 93 federal judges so far, including two Supreme Court justices, 37 circuit court judges, 30 of whom were confirmed during his first two years, and 54 district court judges.

Not surprising, Trump and complicit Senate Republicans are well on their way to turning the judicial branch into a theological government stopgap measure.

Women, gays and lesbians, transgenders, the lot of them are no longer safe from the judicial branch of government.

Its nice to say this but how does anyone know how either of them will rule. How many times have we seen supposed conservative jurists shift to the left after being appointed.

Until we see which way they fall on split court decisions i would say the jury is still out on both of them.

Kavanaug has already sided with the liberal side of the court a couple of times.

I think its premature to say what kind of judges he appointed.

Why should anyone be given special protections. We should all be subject to the same legal standards. What your essentially bitching about is your concern that the courts are not going to receptive to the idea of providing certain groups special privileges. What your advocating is turning the clock back to midevil times of monarchical law that provides special rules for the privileged.

Maybe you should talk to Barr, he is under the impression that a sitting president cannot be indicted like other Americans can. Why are you supportive of special protections for the president? Seems what you have demonstrated is your OWN hypocrisy.

So if they don't rule your way 100% of the time he did not appoint good judges? I think it shows they can look at an issue
and make the right choice regardless of the politics of the time. The Trump administration is doing a great job filling the federal bench.

Case in point

Supreme Court rules Peace Cross war memorial can stand

The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a Peace Cross war memorial on public land outside Washington, D.C., can stand, determining in a 7-2 decision that it does not violate the Constitution.

Oh god it's another right winger who thinks discrimination laws don't protect straight white people.

I can't believe your arguing that dicrimination laws protect people who are not classified as being in a protected class. If those laws are for everyone, why the need to name protected classes. Whats the point?

This is the kind of things monarchs did to protect the royal class. Kind of ironic that progressives advocate the implementation of an antiquated legal system. It is the antithesis of what progressivism claims it represents.

I can't believe you actually think the laws say "gay people are a special protected class." Let me educated you:

The law doesn't say "you can't discriminate against black people, they're protected." What the law actually says is "you can't discriminate against people on the basis of their race or ethnicity." This protects white people the same as it protects black people. Similarly, most states have laws saying you can't discriminate against someone on the basis of their sexual orientation.

You can't be kicked out of a restaurant for being straight or white or male.

You've been exposed to that right wing "gays and blacks want special treatment" nonsense for so long you had no idea what these laws actually do, it never occurred to you that you're protected by the exact same laws.

Not in practice. When the discrimination is against a minority, animus towards that minority is presumed to motivate the discrimination. When it is agaisnt the majority, it is presumed to be motivated by something other than discrimination based upon the particuliar distinction.

Your Goebbels Media has done an awesome job keeping you ignorant.

You cannot indict a President because it would be all Democrats would do during a Republican presidency. The result of that? The President wouldn’t be able to attend to his duties.

That in a nutshell is twice the decision of the DoJ... in the 70’s and 90’s.

The Justice Department has taken the position twice that the president is not subject to indictment while in office and that no criminal charges can proceed against him unless he's either removed from office by impeachment or has served out his term.
Text-Only NPR.org : Can The Sitting President Of The United States Be Indicted?

Democrats have tried another tack to slow Trump. It came with some costs to the country, but... the Democrats BS is in the process of exploding in their faces.

The Democrats ****ed with the wrong guy.

As for Roe v. Wade... that was the court being a 9-man politburo. Writing law isn’t the role of the SCOTUS. That’s the job of the legislature.

You want to change the law... convince the American people... win elections and have your elected officials do it.

That is how the American system works.

Yes... elections matter, but not as you view things.

Elections don’t matter so you can put in judges who act as if they are legislators. No, no, no... elections matter because if you want to change the law, you elect people to do it in the House and Senate.

The courts are not there to act as a 9-man Politburo. They are there to interpret law.

In the case of Roe v. wade it means the SCOTUS ****ed up. They massively overreached and used raw judicial power. That was wrong. You want to legalize abortion, the place to do that is in the House and Senate. The courts are not legislators.

Yes... elections matter. When Democrats lose it means more judges who follow the law, and interpret it in an original/Constitutional manner are nominated and confirmed.

BTW... Thank You very much Harry Reid.

Because some groups are a minority and require protection from the majority.

Just like our constitution essentially shields the interests of the rich at everyone elses expense.

Your bull**** reply is typical agitprop for right wing discrimination apologism.

What a bunch of self-righteous crap. To quote the late Scalia, your post is a bunch of "jiggery-pokery" and as he childishly said in his dissent of the same-sex marriage decision, "You should hide your head in a bag".

Whenever the fascist right disagrees with a justice's opinion they call it "legislating from the bench".

If the right had their way, there would still be sanctioned lynchings in the south and poll taxes for all miniories. Thank goodness for the enlightened left.

ROTFLOL...

I see you do not like the way our government is set up. The Legislature writes the laws, the courts interpret the law.

Roe v Wade was the court writing law... which isn’t their role.

You want to change the law... convince your citizens and elect people to do it.

There is zero in The Constitution that says abortion is a right or is legal. In fact, it was illegal for the entirety of the US’s existence until the SCOTUS abused their authority.

But Leftists see the courts as a Politburo. They use it as an end-around to legislating. Perverse... like the Democrat Partei itself.

And I had to howl at your post. You couldn’t rebut the facts I reiterated above... no, no, no... you... ROTFLOL do what Leftists do when they have no rebuttal... and that is call their opponents Fascists, Nazi’s, Homophobes, Bigots, yada, yada, yada...

I found your post hilarious and a great example of the intellectual bankruptcy of the Left.

Thanks.

Inane posts like yours are the reason free speech is so valuable.

LOL - and the alt-right calls us snowflakes?!

Suffering stress from anger management issues is no way to go through life, my friend. Have you thought about meditation or deep breathing exercises? You might find yourself howling a little less if you look into that.

You are ignoring what I posted again.

First you tried to deflect with the typical Leftist claptrap of being a Fascist, yada, yada, yada...

Now you try to deflect claiming I have anger management issues... when I laughed in your face for your inability to rebut my examples illustrating how things are supposed to work in the Legislative and Judicial branches.

It’s civics for Grade Schoolers. Seems you did not pay attention at school.

What is obvious is you have no idea what you’re debating... and resort to behaving like a child who doesn’t like learning the basic of civics. For when you are taught something you were denied from your schools and Goebbels Media... you don’t have the good sense to shut up and absorb it.

Instead we get the emotional vomit of inane cliches that means absolutely nothing.

You see... that’s the value of free speech. I get to educate you, and you get to ignore said education and reply with nonsensical emotional Leftist vomit... illustrating you know little to nothing, and lack the ability to learn.

Thanks.

<sigh> So full of rage - so full of hatred. I can understand why some need to embrace an abysmal subhuman like trump. He's the embodiment of everything ugly in this world.

To those who need to so so - My deepest sympathies.

Just as you have zero idea about the roles of the Legislative and Judicial branches of the US government, you seem to be ignorant as to what “rage” and “hatred” mean.

But please, keep posting.

Let your ignorance shine through for all to see.

Tell me... ROTFLOL... when abortion is not in the Constitution, and had been illegal for as long as America has existed, how would one change said law?

You see, the correct answer is... you convince your citizens and elect representatives to change said law. Either in your state, federally, or both!!! What a novel idea!!!

The Leftist answer is.. because we can not convince our citizens to elect representatives to change said law... we will try to create our own little Politburo to pervert the system by ignoring the Constitution...

.. And then we get toxic vomit like the following from ignorant Leftists:

Speaking of ignorance - do you know what "Western Democracy" or the "Nuclear Triad" is?

trump doesn't and he's supposed to be the leader of the free world. Keep embracing ignorance my friend. That's why you hated Obama so much. Besides being mixed-race, he "knew stuff" and that terrified you didn't it?

I see you have changed the subject from your OP. You’ve had enough of having your ignorance being exposed for all to see?

Now you want to try another tack? ROTFLOL... OK. This smackery of you is fun.

Obama “knew stuff” that terrified me? ROTFLOL. I know Socialism. It is an evil regardless of who is promoting it. White, Black, Jew, Gentile... does not matter.

Anyone who is a student of history would see every nation state that infects itself with significant doses of this political HIV... fails.

America is no exception.

Just look at the mess Socialist legislation has wrought on individuals and the nation. It’s sad. In many cases sickening.

I didn’t and do not hate Obama. As stated here often, “hate” is reserved for troglodytes who rape, murder, maim and harm others.

I disagreed with virtually everything Obama stood for, and with good reason... he was sending the country down the road of failure. It’s obvious today to anyone. Iran, Cuba, Egypt, Libya, ObamaCare, the economy... he piled up one failure atop another.

Obama failed internationally and domestically. His pen and phone legacy? Expunged in 14-months by Trump. Obama’s legacy has been reduced to moronic and now defunct agreements... and a set of Parker Pens. There is no there there. His legacy is as hollow as the man himself.

Obama gutted the Democrat Party. He made them their weakest since 1920. Thanks Obama.

Now... why would someone of color terrify me? Is that your bigotry shining through? Well, that would have been a shock to my black girlfriend from 29-years ago, and all the athletes I played and competed against for many years.. as well as those I do business with.

You see, you’re a walking vomit machine of Leftist cliches. No thinking required where your brain is locked into.

Oh well... your problem... but...

It’s nice of you to advertise what much of the Democrat Party has become.

The fish rots from the head down, and well... your leaders... sound as dimwitted as you.

Thanks for posting. Keep up the good work of exposing who the Left truly is.

Yes, you are against everything Obama stood for - a united nation, acceptance of all people no matter what walk of life they're from, the wisdom of science, taking government seriously by instead of appointing clowns like Rick Perry and Betsy DeVos - appointing people who actually know something about the agencies they lead - like appointing a nuclear physicist in the position of Sec of Energy.

Listen, this is a blast, but I know you need to get back to your pedantic fear and hatred of all you don't understand and your denial of science.

Take care, my friend!

Does not all forms of discrimination fall under the definition of "special"?

It seems to me you have to take the good with the bad.
