US official says Iranian missile downed US drone - msn.com

John Bolton has had a boner for a war with Iran since the 80s, and he's running the show again.

If he told me the sky was blue, I'd look out the window to see for myself.

I just looked out my window and the sky was black with lots of little white dots. The sky must have already fallen.

I'm in Tucson. The sun is always there. Like 10 feet away.

I doubt there are many who want to see such war on any side.
That's why the Iranians take advantage of that knowledge that war is not a possibility to do whatever they desire to.

Like America they probably do as much as they can get away with short of starting war. So no reason launching into a larger conflagration over what is essentially the status quo.

All I've seen is that they gave coordinates and they gave coordinates.

Which side has a motive, here?

~~~~~~
The Iranians of course. Do you think they accidentally attacked and mined the two ships in the Straits of Hormuz, or blew the drone up by accidentally hitting the button that launched the SA3 missile? If Trump doesn't retaliate he will lose face and also lose in the negotiations with China. He won't start a war, but I'm sure the Iranians will pay for the attacks on the oil freighters and the shoot down of the American drone.
"No, it's not" is a pointless answer because it doesn't do anything for this debate
Are you referring back a couple of posts, when you asked a Yes or no question?
If you would like a deeper answer than "Yes or No" to "Is the U.S. Navy being present in the Gulf of Persia an Act of War", then feel free to ask for one. But if you simply ask "Is X also Y", then, well, you're going to get "Yes" or "No", because that answers your question.
As for your "Well I had to study this and do this and I bet you haven't", **** me, this is excruciating.
It was actually pretty interesting. Your insinuation that the Intelligence Community lied in order to get us into a war is, also, incorrect. Nor did the Bush Administration lie to get us into a war - They were wrong about portions of one of three legs of the argument that they made to invade Iraq, but, when you break out the information they were looking at at the time, the only changes you can make to their assessments when applying analytic rigor are to the confidence ratings.
But have you decided to either stop believing the Intelligence Community v the narratives of brutal thug dictators based on whether or not what they are saying is politically convenient at the time? Or are you going to admit that it's fine when people - including Trump - do so.
Good Point, Good Point, the U.S. Navy, Air Force, the Templars, the Jews, CENTCOM, Aliens, and Trump are all probably working together in a giant conspiracy to make Iran look like they shot down a UAV in international waters, so that Trump could authorize a strike and then.... pull back.... doing not much of anything... .because...
well. Gosh. Huh. No, this theory actually sounds amazingly stupid.
Hey, remember all the way back to, oh, 30 minutes ago when Democrats were aghast that Trump would take the word of a brutal dictatorship over that of the Intelligence Community? Yeah, good times, good times :)
Right, the CIA didn't lie out of their asses and the US Federal government didn't write a report that said the CIA lied out of their asses.
Congressional Reports: Report of the Select Committee on Intelligence on the U.S. Intelligence Community’s Prewar Intelligence Assessments on Iraq I guess this doesn't exist either.
"Most of the major key judgments in the Intelligence Community's October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), Iraq's Continuing Programs for Weapons of Mass Destruction, either overstated, or were not supported by, the underlying intelligence reporting. A series of failures, particularly in analytic trade craft, led to the mischaracterization of the intelligence."
And this isn't a nice way of saying "they lied and they knew it"
""Let's keep in mind the fact that this war's going to happen regardless of what Curve Ball said or didn't say. The Powers That Be probably aren't terribly interested in whether Curve Ball knows what he's talking about.""
This wasn't said by the Deputy of the CIA Counter Proliferation Unit
" The CIA Ombudsman for Politicization received a confidential complaint four days after the paper was published, on June 25,2002, claiming the CTC paper was misleading"
I guess this didn't appear in the report either.
I could go on all day, except for the pain in my mouth.
I'm quite sure I wasn't cheering the Pentagon for keeping Trump in the dark. On what issue even? I have no idea.
As for the Pentagon and the CIA, it's not like they're known for telling the truth, is it?
I mean, it feels kind of like 2003, only this time I think it's Trump ramping up the pressure to try and force Iran into a deal, just like North Korea. And just like with North Korea, it'll go nowhere.
Now the, "we have proof of Russian interferencecollusion" CIA are a buncha liars? :lamo
Oh...? You mean like Truman's Korea, or LBJ's Vietnam???
Exactly this way the republicans don't get blamed with starting a war and no American soldiers will die in a war. Those democrats know how to keep our military safe.
i support wartime tax rates during every "police action." shared sacrifice.
We don't have to pay for it we just pass it down to our children and grandchildren. It can be our legacy just like the previous generations did.
Really?? Just how much blood and treasure was wasted in those two wars? Yes! I know the answer but do you.... Trump is correct in his decision. Will Iran now up the stakes and mistakenly shoot down a passenger plane, or will they again attack freighters or even Navy ships? DJT made the right move... It's in Iran's ball court now...
You mean how Obama took care of our military by Purging the officer corps, ordering ROE's that cost more American lives, kowtowed to Iran, Russia, North Korea , China and Syria while assassinating Omar Ghadaffy and supplying ISIS with weapons?
I agree. :thumbs:
Trump still holds all the aces & the Trump cards. Their only high card will be a nuclear attack which they will lose horribly to us if they decide to go that route. They will solve the fighting problem permanently in their area of the world. The religion of peace will be at peace.
Oh wait. Trump is supposed to blow up the world. Looks like he has made utter fools of the people who shouted that lie.:lamo
