LGBT+ pride marches in US interrupted by neo-Nazis and stampede

Why is there a gay pride parade? Why aren't there more different type of pride parades out there? Do you really need to take part in a parade to show your worth? If people are gonna take part in such parades they are going to invite unintended guests. All ten of them. If this is enough to make you feel outraged then I suspect there will be more of these unintended guests next time.

I don't know do you need to be in a parade? Would you feel better if they had tiki torches and ran people over in cars?

Evidently, you're saying gay pride marches should be condoned no matter the behavior of gay marchers. By the same token, I'm pointing out a person wearing a MAGA hat should be afforded the same privileges as gay rights marchers BECAUSE THERE IS NO VIOLENCE IN WEARING A MAGA HAT.

Clearly based on my response, I don't need to be in a parade. If people feel that being gay is normal and an every day part of life then what is the point of having a parade? How about just go about your life and do what you do and love who you love. I guarantee that if there were less protests and less parades, less "look at me" type of events there would be less bigotry and hatred. It's people like you who have created this phantom enemy. What makes you think I support those who carry tiki torches and run over people just because I asked a question? This is why the left is a danger to this country. I hope you people can stop your slide to the left and act like reasonable people soon.

This is insanely laughable but pampered people gotta punch down all the time. Yes having a gay pride event just magically turns people into totenkoph skull wearing einsatzgruppen. Dont worry people like you will become utterly irrelevant in due time and the world will be better off for it.

Let’s talk about that. The first Pride parade took place in 1970. That parade and every one since was and is about visibility and activism to have the freedom and civil rights required to do what you suggest. It wasn’t until over 43 years later, in 2003, that homosexuality was decriminalized nationwide. The nationwide right to marry came 12 years after that in 2015.

Now, I will grant you that Pride has become more celebratory in recent years, but you should expect that only 4 years into being legally allowed to exist and with a right to marry. Those are major milestones that we do celebrate. But they are not the end. These are still activist events because we are still fighting discrimination in housing and employment among other issues. That is why we will not quietly disappear.
