Trump has long suggested that Mueller’s investigation was politically motivated and since it concluded he has called called for an inquiry into its origins. And on Monday, Trump said “people out there” had done “treasonous things against our country” and called for an investigation into their actions, without specifying what he meant.
“We can never allow these treasonous acts happen to another president,” Trump said.

Treason? Lets see what the Constitution says:

Article I said:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

That's what I thought. Attempting to have your political opponents charged with a crime that can bring the death penalty is not supported by the Constitution. I think we had better check with the Satanic Bible, and see what it says about the matter, but I don't happen to have one of those handy. Maybe a Trump supporter does, and can fill us in.

treason is not the right word.

sedition is the right word.

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

a coup is a seditious act not treason.

Verses all the left wing wackos who accused him of colluding with Russians and accused of him treason? How dare he pull the same game they playing.

It's a war of rhetoric and everyone is guilty of using terminology that doesn't make sense.

(Except me, of course. I try to be very careful about the words I use.)

The 'president' is not the 'government' and investigating him for alleged wrongdoing is not 'seditious'.

This is never going to fly in court - it'll never even make it there.

Trump continues to use the word treason because he can't spell sedition and he doesn't know what it means. Not that he knows what treason means.

For the love of God, Brennan accused Trump of treason! I have a strong suspicion that Brennan will be frog marched on charges of sedition.

I have a leather bound silver edged copy but it is in storage and i haven't seen it in years.

But really it is just a bunch of fake drawings and spells, trump was probably involved in its release as it's just another con...

This was inevitable. Too many people have been using words like toilet paper for too long. Socialist, fascsist, what have you...

Sedition is such a multi-faceted word. In this case, it reminds me of the Alien and Sedition acts, passed in the aftermath of the XYZ Affair. President Adams used the Sedition Act to jail anyone who criticized him. The Alien Act (There were actually 3 different laws in this package) was used to deport French and Irish immigrants by presidential decree alone. These laws were so unpopular that, when Adams was defeated by Jefferson, they were all repealed or otherwise allowed to expire.

Deja Vu, anyone?

Was Trump referring to the common usage of the word Treason or the Constitutional Legal term Treason? Because it makes a really big difference.

Take couple of Tums and that feeling should go away soon enough.

Yes. When I use sources it's for the purpose of presenting facts and my sources range from left to right, mainstream and non-mainstream.

If this "investigation" was illegal and if Trump was the President at the time...maybe even if he was the President-Elect at the time...then that investigation could be consider sedition.

Sedition would be the right word if that's what the FBI and the intelligence community did.

But, since all they were actually doing was their jobs, it isn't the right word.

I know repubs are drooling for something to become of this, but there is a reason why Barr called it a "review" and not an investigation.

The president is part of the of government in fact he is the head of the government.
actually it is when you know that the information is 100% false and that you
are attempting to create alleged wrongdoings in order to get him impeached.

simply because your guy didn't win.
i wouldn't tolerate this type of stuff even if a democrat was in office.

neither do leftists that throw it around either.

Certainly, no argument there. I would submit that most "leftists" can spell sedition and most "leftists" are not President of the United States.

I would submit that most presidents know that there are 50 states in the US not 52 but i mean if we are going to quibble on stuff like that lets do it.
it doesn't detract from the main issue is that a federal agency engaged in acts that could be considered sedition.

To me it shows that we have entered very dangerous waters when a political party has the ability to get a law enforcement agency to engage in such unethical behavior.
more so when the federal agents that are supposed to prevent that type of corruption go along with it instead of opposing it.

All Presidents know there are 50 states, not 52. Even the one we have today.

Nah. No agency engaged in any seditious acts, nor can you cite any such acts.

No unethical behavior was engaged in, nor can you cite any such behavior.

No corruption was gone along with by any federal agents, nor can you cite any such instances.

This is fun!
