Conservative Catholic blogger Matt Walsh, who once said elections don’t really have consequences, is now pretending that Alabama’s abortion ban isn’t going to be such a bad thing. Which is easy to say when you’re not going to get pregnant.

Making a comment literally no one was asking for, Walsh said that as 12-year-old rape victim who gets pregnant — and who, under Alabama law, would be forbidden from having an abortion — is better off under this bill… because the eventual baby would be proof she was really raped. (Just taking her word for it is apparently not an option.)

Sharia law is now acceptable in the US as long as it's Christian Sharia law. Transferring to my employers Toronto office sounds more and more appealing every day.

I don't agree with many of the responses Walsh has gotten. Sinking to his level makes those people no better. His words stand alone to show what a joke he is.

I think the lack of forethought is pretty astounding in this regard. One can argue that some people have done so, but that doesn't account for the potential downside of these children being subject to years of poor treatment because they are reminders of a violent and hateful act. There's just no predicting what kind of environment these children will have given under these circumstances. This scenario is one of those situations where practicality should trump ideology.
 
Where are all of the conservatives defending this guy? Pretty funny, they’re all MIA.
