FBI agents arrested a leader of a heavily armed right-wing militia on Saturday in New Mexico just days after the vigilantes posted a video of members “detaining” hundreds of immigrants, many of them children.

Larry Mitchell Hopkins, 69, of the United Constitutional Patriots militia, was arrested on a “federal complaint charging him with being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition,” according to an FBI statement.

The governor on Friday called on the militia to stand down. “Regular citizens have no authority to arrest or detain anyone,” Grisham said Friday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement that CBP “does not endorse private groups or organizations taking enforcement matters into their own hands.” It added that interference by civilians “could have public safety and legal consequences for all parties involved.”

I saw the story about those clowns. I wondered how long it'd take for them to be arrested. I now hope the FBI/DoJ makes and example of them by "throwing the book at them." Vigilate so-called justice does not sit well with me.
 
I agree they should be arrested.


But I do have a question. All the people they detained...are they illegal border crossers? And if so, what happens to them? And also, if so, how can we continue to pretend this isn't a serious issue?

Um, no. ‘****ing around on the border’ is not what is listed in the charges. Neither is ‘being a moron’ or ‘failed to win a dance off against Jason Momoa.’

I think felons should be able to vote after they leave prison.

It's a crtical piece of information because there are people who think he was arrested for ****ing around on the border.
 
Lock up the Patriots who are trying to protect our country but let the invaders go free?
