Trump to award Tiger Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom

So does giving a Nobel Peace Prize to a war escalator (Kissinger) or to a guy who did squat to get it (Obama), who would later get us into 2 conflicts, resulting in a power vacuum in one country and the birth of a terrorist group in both.

Presidential Medal of Freedom is awarded by the President of the United States "for especially meritorious contribution to (1) the security or national interests of the United States, or (2) world peace, or (3) cultural or other significant public or private endeavors";

Nothing against Woods, but how does playing golf qualify one for a Medal of Freedom?
 
Just wondering if y'all would be cheering if Obama had done so. I don't know much about the MoF, but think that Tiger deserves some recognition after having overcome addiction and making a comeback.
