Poll: 79 percent of Americans think border is in ‘crisis’ or is a ‘problem’

A vast majority of American voters believe that the United States is facing a “crisis” or a “problem” on the southern border, according to a new poll by Politico and Morning Consult.

While less than half of those surveyed (42 percent) agree with President Donald Trump’s assertion that the border is in “crisis,” another 37 percent concede that there is a “problem” — meaning 79 percent of voters believe the situation at the border is a serious issue.

Only 12 percent of voters polled said that the situation at the border is neither a crisis nor a problem.

It seems the Leftists here believe by a margin of 90%, the wall is neither a crisis nor a problem.

Anyone with a lick of sense. Even the odd Conservative. Trump's a con man. If you don't know that, you're a mark.

A majority also support a barrier, just not when Trump proposes it.

You do realize that "majority" means more than 50%, right?

Breaking News: a majority of Americans think their weight is a crisis or a problem or a point of occasional concern.

Would have been nice to separate those two questions. Be interesting to see the results.

I'm guessing huge number for problem, no so big for crisis.

I believe we have some problems on our Southern border, I do not believe that a wall across our Southern border is a realistic or effective way of dealing with that problem.

Funny how the people who live near the Mexican border don't think it's a crisis.

On the Border, Little Enthusiasm for a Wall: ‘We Have Other Problems That Need Fixing’

“This is the sleepiest little town you could think of,” said Adriana Zizumbo, 31, who was raised in Columbus and owns the cafe with her husband. “The only crisis we’re facing here is a shortage of labor. Fewer people cross the border to work than before, and Americans don’t want to get their hands dirty doing hard work.”

President Trump has shut down part of the government over border security and his plan to build a wall along the border with Mexico, and in a prime-time speech on Tuesday night he painted a bleak picture of life in towns like Columbus.

He said border residents were suffering through a “humanitarian crisis,” and he described a landscape scarred by violence and prowled by “vicious coyotes and ruthless gangs.” But that is not how Ms. Zizumbo sees it. People in Columbus, she said, opposed the idea of a wall by about a “90-to-10 margin.”
We have Trump and the GOP hyping and flooding the media with immigration being a crisis, Then, shills like zimmer tell us that people think immigration is a crisis.

That is in the article, and you would be correct. The OP is lumping the two together because trump is losing the “crisis” narrative badly. Likewise, he’s losing the argument on the wall issue which is why you consistently see republicans substituting “wall” for “border security,” as the OP has also done.
