[W:130]Trump Struggles to Master Role of Military Commander

I really cant wait for you all to try to stand on morsl high ground when republicians are calling the nect democrat potus names.

When Trump pardoned the turkeys this Thanksgiving I'm thinking the democrats will soon demand an investigation.

Trump continues to push the false news that no one has done more for the US military in recent times than Donald Trump. Many veterans I know shake their heads in disbelief. After the political deployment of troops at the US border, after the monumental (no pun intended) presidential **** up in Paris and the following **** up for not making a visit to Arlington National Cemetery because of rain again Trump's flack team decided that a quick visit to the Marine barracks 20 minutes from the White House would make it all better.

Nothing like a surprise ass covering visit from a public official to improve morale among the troops. :lamo Yeah, use them again for a photo op to cover rolling **** ups the President caused only a week before.

And now we hear that the reason President Bone Spurs has never visited troops deployed in a combat zone is not because he is scared ****less, not because it might be raining but because he doesn't support the missions where the troops are deployed!

Here's what President Bone Spurs doesn't know. It is very likely that a majority of troops deployed don't support the mission either. But those people show up. They do it when they hate it. They do it when they are scared. They do it when they are dog tired. They do it when they don't feel well. They do it when it is raining. They do and then they rotate home and they do it again when redeployed.

They do it out of duty and honor, self-respect and out of respect for each other. None of those things - none - are understood or exhibited by their Commander-in-chief.

trump didn't attend the memorial service in Paris because he was worried his hair would get wet. trump didn't march with the other world leaders in Paris because he preferred to have ANOTHER private meeting with his boss Putin. trump didn't attend the service at Arlington cemetery or do anything else to honour our war heroes cos he was too busy making phone calls in the White House. And he has been tweeting disgusting and disrespectful insults at war hero General McRavin. Add his disgusting treatment at war hero John McCain and inciting trumpeteers to celebrate McCain's death...and there is no way anyone can say he has respected the military or our veterans.

Sadly a lot of military personnel and veterans support Cadet Bone Spurs and the war mongering republicans.

I guess you didnt hear but after trump tried to pardon the turkeys, the 9th district court intervened and overruled him. Those turkeys are cooked

Don't forget, Trumps Vietnam was dodging STDs in New York.

He also couldn't resist fighting with a Gold Star family.

Why General Mattis hangs around this slimy fat cockroach is beyond me.

Mattis hangs around the orange ***** because like most republicans he loves trump more than he does the USA. trump has urinated all over the US constitution and is about to wipe his orange hairy butt with it soon.

Trump is President not a Military commander.

The reason ISIS is all but gone (while Obama said they were a generational problem) is because Trump let the Generals fight the war.

Interesting opinion you've got there.

Why General Mattis hangs around this slimy fat cockroach is beyond me.

It's probably the same reason someone had to spend their time with a creep like Obama.

Simply because they had to.

Trump is President not a Military commander.

The reason ISIS is all but gone (while Obama said they were a generational problem) is because Trump let the Generals fight the war.

This is so ****ing ignorant. Allow me to steal you away from your pathetic altar of Trump worship so that I can embarrass you with historical fact:

- August, 2014: Speaking about U.S. airstrikes on IS in Iraq, Obama declared that "this is going to be a long-term project."

- August, 2014: Kurdish and Iraqi government forces, with the help of those airstrikes, took back the Mosul Dam from IS.

- September, 2014: Obama announced that he would begin to pursue airstrikes in Syria against IS with or without congressional approval.

- October, 2014: The Department of Defense formally established Combined JTF - Operation Inherent Resolve to deal with IS.

- December, 2014: At NATO headquarters in Brussels, diplomats and foreign ministers from 59 countries gathered to plot a way forward against the threat of IS.

- January, 2015: Half of IS' leaders in Iraq and Syria had been killed off; and the US began coordinating airstrikes with a Kurdish launched ground offensive.

- February, 2015: Another 1,300 US troops were deployed to Iraq to advise, increasing the number of US ground troops in Iraq to 4,400.

- February, 2015: Last ISIS stronghold in Aleppo province falls.

- May, 2015: Iraqi/Turkish forces had taken Tikrit, Ramadi, and Tal Abyad back from IS. IS becomes more active to control territory in Syria.

- October, 2015: Iraqi forces regain Iraq's largest oil refinery from IS.

- November, 2015: Kurdish forces regain Sinjar from IS.

- February, 2016: Iraqi forces retake (again) Ramadi from IS.

- June, 2016: Iraqi forces regain Fallujah from IS.

- January, 2017: Donald Trump shows up at the White House.

- July, 2017: The Iraqi Prime Minister, Abadi, formally declared a local Iraqi victory over IS on July 10, 2017 and then declare total control of the Syrian/Iraqi border in December, after three years of airstrikes and ground assaults.

Did you catch all of this inconvenient history or was the facts too threatening to your need to play partisan foolishness?

I'll summarize: In August 2014, IS was targeted in at least Libya, Afghanistan, Cameroon, Somalia, and Yemen. By September of 2014, IS began losing ground in Iraq; and major city footholds began to fall, starting with the Mosul Dam territory. The years-long close-air campaign consisted of U.S., British, Dutch, French, Jordanian, and Moroccan airstrikes. Before Trump took office in January of 2017, IS was reeling and it's occupation in Iraq/Syria had been reduced to near nothing.

He inherited what was already a done deal. By declaring that Trump did this, so that you can show everybody what a loyal subject you are, you actually **** all over the troops who had spent years defeating IS' territorial claims in the air and on the ground.

I must say, I'm surprised the "Obama created ISIS" card hasn't been played yet...

I can easily destroy that trash too.

The widespread confusion pretty much comes down to the Right and Left making shallow arguments ever since 2003.

Oh is that the reason? Maybe you'd share the reason why Trump's negotiating with the Taliban. Remember the Taliban? Osama bin Laden's hosts and protecters? Trump has ordered that his people negotiate with them.

I'm sure. It's one of the more ludicrous comments made by Trump. What's been interesting in political discussions about most topics is this odd approach to viewing recent history from the perspective of Trump being the starting point for various things (economy, societal divisiveness etc) when things tend to blend in from the past and morph into what we're experiencing now.

This is something that should have happened in 2011 actually.

It leads me to conclude that Trump is aware of how easily his constituent FOX News-viewing base is manipulated. I mean, this is the guy who actually told them that Global Warming was a Chinese hoax, when he started to make his trade-war argument, in the belief that they might buy it. Of course, before this, his base was all about the "birther" nonsense, the tomato paste argument, the liberal hoax argument, and the Benghazi conspiracies. And given how their entire political existence appears to be about how best to hate "the left" by any means necessary, I wouldn't be surprised if many of them are actually this ignorant of what has been happening in the sand, leaving Trump to say whatever he likes to their applause.

Trump is the appointed cult-king of this culture of irrationality and some of the members here act as if they are competing to be deacons. Curse Hillary's existence in politics for allowing the retarded of the population to have a voice.

It would have been as pointless then as it is now. If 'negotiate' means finding a compromise both sides can live with, I seriously doubt there's anything resembling a compromise that the Taliban will respect. You either drive those guys right out of the picture and leave enough strength behind you to keep them out or you pack up and don't look back. There's no middle ground to negotiate with those men.

Not really.

The point of Afghanistan was to primarily get Bin Laden and wreck al-Qaeda's home base. Well, we wrecked the home base quickly in 2001 and finally got Bin Laden in 2011 in neighboring Pakistan. That's ten years. That would have been the time to declare that we had accomplished our mission. And when the incompetent Afghan government complained that they weren't ready, we could have easily declared that they had had a decade's worth of our blood and treasure to figure it out. That would have been "victory" for the U.S. because we would have accomplished our two main military missions and we would have had the moral high ground for giving the new Afghanistan a true shot at deciding their own democratic fate. This was unlike the Cold War where we simply propped up a dictator and called it "peace."

But now? Now we look like we did at the end of Vietnam. We've simply run out of steam as the Taliban still runs around the country.

You are certainly correct. The Taliban will not respect anything other than their absolute power. This is where Afghan security forces and the Afghan government get to prove to the world whether or not they were worth our very over-extended stay. Afghanistan was never going to be another U.S. state. Our stay was always temporary. However, I suspect that MEU's will be available for ongoing smaller-scale support.

But do you now what we do know after all of this? Any new Taliban government won't ever harbor a terrorist organization that attacks the U.S. again. Afghanistan was argued wrong from the beginning. This should have been punitive in nature, not necessarily about nation building.

Don't forget, Trumps Vietnam was dodging STDs in New York.

He also couldn't resist fighting with a Gold Star family.

Why General Mattis hangs around this slimy fat cockroach is beyond me.

Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal's belittling critique of Obama got him fired, I suspect he couldn't bear
dealing with BO's incompetency so he, McChrystal fired himself by showing disdain & insubordination.

'He also couldn't resist fighting with a Gold Star family.' You're not seriously defending Papa Khan are you?

Captain Khan was a Patriot who served our America. His service was a gift; his death was a tragedy.
Meanwhile, down here, Poppa Khan, who came to our nation to get his, appears to be cashing in on his
dead son's duty-body-country and buying a ticket to ride on the talk-show circuit.
I don't appreciate opportunists who exploit US Soldiers.

Their son died while dad was running a scam immigration visa mill selling US visas to sleazy
Pakistani millionaires and going on Pakistani interviews about bringing sharia to the USA.

Nobody is denying their sacrifice, at the same time it is possible to not agree with those deciding
to disrespect the very ideas and symbols that person died defending.

Khizr Khan, the new Cindy Sheehan being used as a puppet by the left.

I did not know this but I took a near instant dislike to this couple, it would shock me not at all that you are right here.

Could be. We need to investigate what was served at Mara Logo for his ego trip dinner.

https://thehill.com/.../290985-why-khizr-khan-needs-a-democrat-in-the-white-house

Why Khizr Khan needs a Democrat in the White House
Before the website of his legal practice was taken down—reportedly his own doing—
Khan was apparently advertising his services as a promoter of so-called EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.

The EB-5 program lets wealthy applicants, and their families, skip the line for a green card if they invest $500,000 in a viable, jobs-generating business for two years.

Ever since its creation, critics have called it a visa-for-sale scheme. Former labor economics professor at Cornell
University,Vernon Briggs, Jr., said the entire concept of investor immigrants “introduces the principle that the rich
of the world can buy their way into the United States.” Americans, he says, should view the program “as a source of shame.”

These brokers— almost always immigration attorneys—take fat fees of up to $60,000 from each foreign green card-hopeful.
Point-blank truth, Khan was Cleverly sneaking Muslims into the United States.

Yet lib posters try to shame Trump for revealing what this Khan guy was up to.

Anything that can plausibly be turned into Trump Hate Propaganda is, honesty and fairness not required because these Modern Morons really do suck.

We used to be better.
