Patients have a right to nursing staff with goodwill. Hospitals have a moral and financial interest in maintaining a staff that patients can trust.

That's a murky area.

Patients who are competent and medically stable have a right to refuse care. If the patient is in critical condition and hurling racial epithets, they probably won't have grounds to sue just because they had to endure emergency treatment from someone of a race they despise. And nurses have successfully sued when employers forced them to pander to bigoted requests.
