Chief Justice John Roberts said he transferred the judicial misconduct complaints to the Judicial Council of the 10th US Circuit Court of Appeals for further review.

That court is headed by Judge Tymkovich. “Judge Tymkovich can handle the complaints himself, dismiss them or appoint a special committee to examine them.”

So Roberts didn't order an investigation as per the OP, but sent it along to the courts.

Isn't that the proper steps? I don't SCOTUS has the authority to order an investigation.

If I read the article correctly.....Justice Roberts didn't order any new investigation; he simply referred complaints to another judicial review court.

as i told you there is no investigation. Roberts basically shoved it off and the 10th circuit court ethics panel has no
jurisdiction over the SCOTUS.

Judge Henderson dismissed some of the complaints made against Judge Kavanaugh as frivolous. But she concluded that more than a dozen complaints were substantive enough to warrant investigation by an impartial panel and that they should not be handled by Judge Kavanaugh’s fellow judges in the D.C. Circuit. She referred them to Chief Justice Roberts, who has now referred them to the 10th Circuit.

The complaints were not made without legal basis. More than 2,400 law professors have determined that Kavanaugh has “displayed a lack of judicial temperament that would be disqualifying for any court.”

Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens also stated that Judge Kavanaugh has demonstrated bias and is “not fit for the Supreme Court.” Former Justice Stevens, in remarks to retirees in Boca Raton, Fla, declared that Kavanaugh’s statements on September 27 revealed prejudices that would make it impossible for him to do the court’s work.

The chief judge on the D.C. appeals court, Merrick Garland, whom President Barack Obama nominated to the Supreme Court in 2016, recused himself from reviewing those complaints. After his recusal, Karen Henderson, another judge on the D.C. appeals court, then passed them on to Roberts, The Washington Post reported earlier this month.

It is unclear what the 10th Circuit will do with the complaints. Kavanaugh, as a Supreme Court justice, is not subject to the lower court's judicial misconduct procedures.
