Yeah I noticed she stayed out of the Kavanaugh fray. I just wondered, because she's a victim of sexual assault. I just wondered if that had anything to do with it.

I don't know why people get so angry when celebrities voice their opinions. Taylor Swift is a singer. That is her job. Just like people have jobs as truck drivers or doctors or retail managers. Those kinds of people are allowed to voice their opinions, so why is she not?

Personally, I like the kid. She's never had any scandal or drama. I agree with you that it's smart for her to be involved. Her getting involved might get others involved. Never anything wrong with that.

^^ This. She's a smart kid. She writes her own lyrics. She writes her own music. She is clean, and other than the random boyfriend drama (and what young girl hasn't had that), she seems pretty solid.

I am very eclectic. I can listen to just about anything but country music or zydeco. Everything else, I can handle. Just depends on my mood.

Swift isn't going anywhere. It's a new world. This isn't like the world we lived in where the Dixie Chicks lost everything for speaking their minds. Things are different now.

These types of ideas dont work out usually. There is a reason people of this stature tend to keep their opinions to themselves for the most part. Getting involved in politics is a negative as far as business is concerned. Its her call though however ill advised.

Yet why would some of the public put so much weight behind what a "famous" person thinks. Seems some have lost the ability to research, gather facts and make their own decisions.

I could care less who Swift supports for whatever office.

Oh I’m sure she realizes she will lose SOME fans. Not as much as she would back when she was a country singer. But she is wealthy enough she can afford to lose some fans in exchange for listening to her conscience.

So she realizes she will lose some fans, which means she doesn't care since she can afford to....so she made money off of them but since she has enough now then she doesn't have to worry anymore about offending them. Her comments about Blackburn are not even accurate so obviously she is not well informed. In fact, Marcia's opponent has had trouble while governor of sexual misconduct in his administration. No, Taylor is just living in a bubble now, just like most celebrities.

She shouldn’t have to worry about offending her fans. I will never understand the obsession and sense of entitlement fans have with regard to their favorite artists. It is a job. Her job is to make music. If her fans like the music they can buy it, listen to it, or go to her concerts. If they don’t, they don’t. Whatever little money, if any, a fan spends on a celebrity entitles them to the art they purchased. Nothing more and nothing less.

When I buy a Stephen King novel I am entitled to own and read that book. It doesn’t give me a say in what King does with his life. I think Kanye is a whack job, but I like his music. The fact that he likes Trump isn’t going to stop me from turning the volume up when “Gold Digger” comes on the radio.

The celebrity worship and fan entitlement in this country is getting ridiculous.
