Liberal group cuts support for Dems Manchin, Bredesen over Kavanaugh

Dem activists screaming at the guy, dem groups pulling their support, his state solidly republican. It wouldnt shock me if after he wins reelection that he switches parties. It doesnt seem like liberals have thought this through.
He won't. If current trends continue he'll be mustered out like Tom Daschle, Blanche Lincoln, Mary Landrieu, and other recent red-state Dems to lose re-election bids. They were all conservative relative to the Democratic party, but their voting records, particularly on economic issues, simply didn't fit in with the GOP. Manchin's stands on tax cuts and healthcare alone disqualify him as a Republican.

Is that all you've got Fletch? A one-liner about the loony left? Yeah, you guys can have him. You can also have Shumer, Pelosi, McCaskill, and most of the party, along with that 'big-tent' BS. I'll take the guys that are better equipped to defeat the Republicans at the polls and ballot box.

And who would they be?

There are MANY reasons to oppose Kavanaugh. His views are out-of-the-mainstream; he has pending complaints from the Chief Justice, repeatedly lied, was deceptive, evasive and showed no deference to the Senate handling his confirmation. Any one of those are valid reasons to not provide Senatorial consent.

Every word of this is untrue. Every word.

You didn't even read your own link very well.

ACtually he is everything that democratic party should be and if they were more democrats like manchin they would win more often.

No, the more Democrats like Manchin we have, the more left-leaning folks will just stay the **** home. The conservative Dem shtick only works for him because of his state. Clinton tried a campaign that focused on gaining imaginary right-wing independent support, and ended up losing to a reality-television con-man.

Progressive candidates are more likely to pick up voters who otherwise wouldn't be motivated to vote. As it turns out, when you give people an option, and put progressive initiatives on the ballot, the left tends to get what it wants. The majority of the American people are with us, and when people hear candidates talk about things that they actually care about, that gives people hope, a reason to believe that getting out and participating in our political process actually matters, and when there's huge voter turn-out, we win.

Sanders polled better against Republicans even before he managed to attain the name-recognition status he enjoys now. I've been hearing this refrain that centrist Dems are more electable since the presidential election cycle first kicked off, and it was never founded in anything other than the traditional mind-set of what is and is not an effective campaign strategy for a Democrat.

No, I do not think that right-wing candidates are the way to go for the Democrats. The party has already been doing that for the last few decades. What we've ended up with is a party that clings to the image of being a lower-class party while mimicking the Republicans when it comes to selling out. This is why we have low voter turn-out, and that will change as soon as the Democrats grow a platform to stand on.

I't's their civic duty seeing as republicans always tend to vote against their own best interests.Case in point: They voted to elect a POTUS who 'fell in love' with Kim Jung UN II,the most brutal dictator on the planet who sent an American captive home to the U.S. in a coma and died days later. POTUS's response? "LiL Rocket Man writes me beautiful letters." :screwy

Why should Trump continue to hate brutal dictators of the world who show signs of wanting to change? Obama loved Muslim leaders of terrorist nations who were Muslim just like his birth family.

And who would they be?

Literally any candidate pledging not to take PAC-money.

There's a very slow trickle of these kinds of candidates inserting themselves into the Democratic party, backed by groups like Justice Democrats, Brand New Congress, and Our Revolution. Winning primaries is the difficult part, though I earnestly believe that these guys stand to fair better in the general compared to their establishment Dem counterparts, but the mid-terms may very well prove me wrong.

Your non-answers,answering questions by asking irrelevant questions, and deflections get very old and boring .Even with some of the conservatives here.Obama is a Christian.Trump is a pro-abortionist atheist.

I am tempted to say let the reps win.

Let them run as fast and as far as they want.

Help power/wealth addicted sponsors realize the dirt cheap labor their competitors enjoy.

Maybe THEN republicans will realize what they've been supporting all these years.

It'll be hard to fix, but the pot under the frogs would get real hot real fast.

You act as if people on the right dont know what they are voting for. They know exactly what they are voting for.

Good luck with that.

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate...port-for-dems-manchin-bredesen-over-kavanaugh

MoveOn, a progressive outside group, said on Friday that it is cutting support for Democrats in two key Senate races because they are supporting Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

"We're cancelling a planned six-figure digital video ad expenditure for Phil Bredesen in Tennessee due to his Kavanaugh position," the group said in a tweet.

They added that "similarly [we] will be pulling all planned campaigning on behalf of Joe Manchin in West Virginia if he votes yes. Kavanaugh is unfit for the Court."

His 'em where it hurts: in their wallets.

Waaaahhhh !!! What a bunch of ******s !

Look, had Manchin voted NO he would have been toast and no amount of money or support from " Move on " or any other Left wing advocacy group would have been able to save his candidacy.
He did the right thing, he voted the way his constituents wanted him to

I draw conclusions from what I observable and hear. Trump's words:
Trump: Kim Jong Un and I fell in love

Trump, while saying rather nasty things about our allies, has NEVER been critical of Putin.
Trump and Putin: A Love Story

Trump is a salesman. He is trying to persuade Kim into buying what he has to offer. Maybe you prefer the tough guy approach that has yielded so much fruit since 1953. Trump is using flattery and persuasion rather than war to end the NK threat but you are so consumed with Trump hate and so brainwashed by liberal spin that you cant and wont see it. Youve heard the old saying "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar" That is what is going on here. Maybe it will work and maybe it wont. But the dynamics between our two countries has changed rather dramatically, you just refuse to see or admit it.

I don't believe the majority on either side really knows what they are voting for.

The results are in, and money gets what it wants when voters don't want it and voters don't get what they want when money doesn't want it.

It's what you get when you spend over $50 million dollars per congressperson.

The problem is trump honey is mostly corn syrup.

I do not agree with your assessment.

Their money, their call. It's cutting off their nose to spite their face, but I guess everyone has to decide when and where to draw the line on their principles.

What principles were being shown as they protected a multiple sex offender (using the Democrat rule of 'Accusation = Guilty') and his wife who demonized the victims?

Not really because you will pull more independants than the radical nut jobs that you are trying to pull. I would vote for manchin. Hell if you would have ran someone like
manchin for the presidency i would have voted for them over trump, but no you guys picked the most polarizing candidate ever.

No they are more likely to get the kooks of the party out while turning off large segments of the other population. this is why you lost in 2016 and will continue to lose.

Sanders was playing to the pie in the sky liberal base that thinks the government can pay for everything and it is all just free.
they are low information voters that do not have a clue about what they are talking about.

You want more voters you move closer to center not futher to the left you will lose more if you continue to do so.

I'm no fan of religion-based policy, and you and I are most definitely mortal enemies on this front, but our president is no Christian. He only has the religious right because he inherited you guys from the GOP, and nobody wants to believe their great hope is a **** sandwich. This guy may govern on the side of y'all when it is politically expediant, but I don't see a man governed by any sort of idealogy, religious or ptherwise. I would consider the last five presidents to be more religious , and I don't like religion, nor the last five presidents.

Trump may not do everything right but at least he got two good judges on SCOTUS, thank God.

The reason that the religious right endorse Trump is because he's dismantling democracy, which Christian religious Right claims never existed in this country. You hear it everywhere...mumble mumble "America is not a democracy", mumble mumble.
America is a constitutional republic, but its representatives are elected democratically. That's the standard and universally accepted definition of the term because no nation has ever successfully used "PURE" democracy, anymore than any animal has ever breathed pure oxygen.

The instability of pure democracy was always known, so the current mumbling is a smokescreen for the truth about the religious Right.
The truth is, their aim is for authoritarian theocracy. It always was.

The political Right and the religious Right are intimate bedfellows because for both groups, representative democracy (also known simply as "DEMOCRACY") is a huge pain in the ass for them, and it's a threat to their lock on power. The political Right's financial elite abhor representative democracy and really don't much care if we become an authoritarian theocracy.
The restrictions of the religious Right won't affect them very much at all.
In fact, it's even possible that, once an authoritarian system is in place, the financial elites may very well do away with the religious Right altogether, if they become too much a pain in the ass.
The financial elite want what they believe is their birthright, and the church wants what they believe is theirs.
As long as they stay out of each other's way, power will be shared between the two.

This is how it has worked for ten thousand years of recorded history, don't take my word for it.

They don't seem to understand that a government with enough power to go after minority groups they hate, is also a government that will use that same power (which they gave them) to use and abuse them to no end.

It's comedic how many Trump supporters worry about their healthcare and hope the GOP won't repeal the ACA, yet continue to vote for Republicans that openly say they will do just that. They seem to place more importance in "STICKING IT TO THE LIBRULZ!" than they do their own welfare, even as they continue to give the black man they despised zero credit for their dumbass having healthcare in the first place.

Sooner or later, we all reap what we sow and must live with the choices we make. So, when their daughters are burdened with unwanted pregnancies, they're discriminated against, have no healthcare, lose their social security, and get abused by the system ... they'll get zero sympathy from me.

Let them suffer the consequences this time and clean-up their own mess.

And I guarantee you, with the choices that they've been making, the MESS IS COMING.
And it will be "YUGE".

It's always humorous to watch you display how Obama continues to live in your head rent free.Keep up the good work.

The liberal party just gets dumber by the day.
