Billionaire Michael Bloomberg will donate $20 million to the super PAC affiliated with Senate Democrats, two Bloomberg advisers said Tuesday, giving a major cash infusion to the party's quest to win the Senate in November.

Bloomberg adviser Kevin Sheekey told The Washington Post, which first reported the donation to the Senate Majority PAC, that Bloomberg was disappointed in Republican Senate leadership and believed Democrats would be mobilized to vote in the upcoming midterms by the uproar over sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The $20 million donation, which Bloomberg advisers Marc La Vorgna and Howard Wolfson confirmed to POLITICO, will help Democrats in a difficult battle to reclaim the Senate. st possible experience, this site uses cookies.

It must be nice to be loaded like Bloomberg.

I love it when he throws his money away at lost causes, especially when he dumps millions into infringing upon the 2nd Amendment only for it all to go up in flames.

Keep it up Mike! I think I'll have a large soda.

In politics, money buys votes & influence.

He sent the money to the "Institute For People Who Hate Big Gulps".

Bloomberg is very wealthy. This is his own money.

But dimocrats like to give out government freebies to create dependence and buy votes while pretending to care about the downtrodden.

The senate map is the most hostile democrats have ever faced, their odds are so tny for the senate it is laughable, while their odds for taking the house are fairly good. Best you hope they do not repeat clinton and push for the longshot races and ignore the sure fire races, trump won because the democrat strongholds in the rust belt fell, the strongholds now for this race are for house races, and hopefully they will be smart enough to devote recources to keeping the house race in their favor instead of dumping money into the senate race to gain seats they have extremely poor odds of winning.

That's why the democrats like to give away our tax money.

What's hilarious is you think the democrats are the only ones that do this. Have you seen the deficit since the republicans took the Whitehouse and the republicans are still in control in the house and senate?

As projected in the FY 2019 budget, Trump plans to add $8.282 trillion, a 41-percent increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017. He will add almost as much in four years as Obama did in eight. That would also make him the second-biggest contributor to the debt in history in just one term.

What an old worn out silly talking point. You really need new material.

That is a drop in the ocean compared to what the Koch's are spending...

Trumps business model has always been borrow, bankruptcy, repeat...

That's why Hillary spent twice the amount Trump did ... and got ... n..o..t..h..i..n..g ... :lamo

In elections the person who spends the most money wins about 90% of the time. The exception to this is Presidential elections where they have constant free media coverage.

Think you got that backwards. Republicans are the deficit builders. Trump heading us back to $1 Trillion. But the billionaires are thanking you for padding their pockets.
