Trump administration abruptly ends key law enforcement program at wildlife refuges

Just how gainfully employed is that ONE WARDEN? Do you know? And what happens when that ONE WARDEN goes on vacation? Or sick leave?

Do you know how many non-or underutilized government positions are being reviewed right now and how many cuts the entire federal government is facing?

He is busy as hell, when he goes on vacation a warden from the next district will cover any calls..

Believe me I know how hard and long those guys work. I was with the DNR for a few years and my office was next to the wardens. The only time he was there was to file reports or prepare for court.

They cover such a large area that unless a call is an emergency they delay going out to them until there are several in that area.

Gee, I wonder why the administration wants to reduce the number of wardens allowed to carry firearms in wildlife refuges.

Oh look, it's all because of budget cuts

Yeah! Time for the cartels to go grow weed in the woods again :)

In the same breath you claim they are critical...vital...and that there is too much work for them to be effective.

You get that this program isnt ENDING armed response...merely allowing 'refuge managers' to go back to being 'refuge managers'.

Heres the thing. A Google search for Wisconsin, Wardens , and Arrests yields ONE hit...and that was the settled lawsuit for an erroneous arrest from 2005.
