BREAKING: We Have The Votes

You have five current Democratic senators from deep red states, Tester, Montana, Heitkamp, North Dakota, Donnelly, Indiana, McCaskill, Missouri along with Manchin from West Virginia where a nay vote on confirmation could, I repeat, could cost them their seat. All five are in very tight races. Heitkamp trails by a couple of points, Tester, Donnelly, McCaskill are up by only a couple in their latest polls. All within the margin of error which means the races are basically tied. Only Manchin has a good decent lead averaging around 8 points.

But Flake just said he'd vote yes, and he's not even running. He's retiring.

The Right only need to be told that America's kids should eat healthier to get mindlessly fired up.

This didn't alienate Independents or Democrats. With the way the right-wing media has been treating this, it merely helped prove what many have discovered over the last couple years.

November will be a direct slap in the face for Democrats or Republicans. But I suspect that if Republicans take the slap, they will choose not learn a lesson, simply dig into their extremism even deeper, and look for other ways to chip away at democracy across the country in order to win the next one.

Lol...
Here's the deal. Contrary to prevailing opinions from the MSM and the Democrats Paty, the average American is not a imbecile

People are smart enough to see through the disgusting charade the Democrats party just tried to pull. Theyre smart enough to weigh the evidence against Kavanugh ( there is none ), and they're smart enough to know a Political hit job meant to smear a innocent man when they see one

The fact that the GOP has the votes ( including Manchin, Collins, Corker ) to confirm Kavanugh so soon after the hearing should tell you something, but you're too locked in your partisan delusions to notice or care.

I'll clue you in, or try. The hearing and this entire depraved attempt to destroy a innocent man, his reputation and family for Politcal purposes BACKFIRED in epic proportions.

Manchin, Corker and Collins to name a few wouldn't vote to confirm without feedback and the support of their constituents

The Democrats really screwed themselves by doing something this despicable.

They removed Trump from the issue entirely and managed to get Trump supporters, never-Trumpers and Conservatives to agree and align on this important issue

It can also hurt them with their base, who will see them as DINO's that simply don't deserve reelection.

Maybe, anyway you look at it, it leaves them between a rock and a hard place.

And another partisan hack on DP...you.

Which is better than another partisan hack on the SCOTUS. One can reasonably conclude Kav is not the right person to sit on the high court. His anger toward liberals is palpable, his lack of humility bracing. He has the partisan mindset that opponents are unworthy of respect and kindness. He’s clearly not impartial -- a reasonable requirement for the high court.

Whatever. I’ve completely given up on right-wing America. Nothing that they say or post can really surprise or shock me anymore. They are evil, soulless monsters.

Look at this little victory dance they’re doing, as if Kavanaugh was fully exonerated and has already been confirmed. They are on the cusp of absolute power, and they are champing at the bit to exert their fascist ideology on the rest of us.

But remember, THEY are the victims of the “liberal media,” “PC culture” and liberals saying mean things to them.

Agreed, it is not shocking. I have family members who have said words to the same effect. Still disgusts me, though.

Not worse than those that wouldn't even give Merrick Garland a hearing.

We elected the Republicans so they could keep nutjob communist liberals off The Supreme Court.

If I would hazard a guess, Donnelly could join Manchin, perhaps Heitkamp since she is trailing. McCaskill will vote nay, probably Tester too. But what is missing and has been ignored totally is Ex-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's first use of the nuclear option. Without that, without that precedence, these nomination would have taken 60 votes for cloture instead of a simple majority of 51 for confirmation. With Gorsuch's confirmation via the nuclear option along with the possibility of Kavanaugh's, the Republicans owe Reid and all those who voted for allowing its first use a huge debt of thanks and gratitude. Schumer also, as he stood right beside Reid, jumping up and down with glee with a smile a mile wide when Reid first used the nuke.

I don't think Gorsuch would have been confirmed prior to the nuclear option, I'm positive Kavanaugh's wouldn't. The Republicans should heap a ton of praise upon Reid. Without him, none of this would have happened.

The nuclear option for SCOTUS appointments was done by McConnel, and he owns it, not Reid. Reid did it for the Federal Bench, and that was a mistake he has to live with.

Who is this "we?"

Merrick Garland is widely regarded as a moderate, Garland had been praised in the past by many Republicans, including influential senators such as Orrin Hatch of Utah. It wasn't Garland that was the problem. In fact, only hours after Scalia's death was announced, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell declared ANY appointment by Obama to be null and void.

It's highly dishonest to argue that the reason Garland was unacceptable was because Garland was a "nutjob communist liberal" when McConnell proclaimed that ANY Obama nominee would not receive the advice and consent that the constitution requires.

Yep.

That POS is no better than the rest of them, which should be reflected in whatever romanticizing of his legacy there is.

That's a hard sell, because Harry Reid and 52 Democrats set the precedent in back in 2013.

"We The People", who voted the Republicans into power.

Any Obama nominee was instructed in how they would vote. That was made clear to them before the announcement. That's why Garland wasn't given a hearing.

The ****hole Party has brainwashed their followers quite badly.

They defend rapists, people who kill women, they have an entire media apparatus which has been proven corrupt for decades... my how they cling bitterly to the lies they have been fed.

Defending rapists... check
Here’s the problem:

1. Moore has run for office umpteen times. If he was guilty of this, they’d have taken him out long before.

2. It’s the same cast of characters that sprung the NBC tape of Trump BSing with Bush.

3. The Gobbels Inspired Media Propagandists (GIMPs), the propaganda arm of the Socialists of America Partei (SAPs), has shot their credibility.

4. Bill Clinton’s story was known, the GIMPs tried to bury it, and did for a while. They tried to bury the Lewinsky story... actually hoped it wouldn’t see the light of day.

5. The Clinton lies and perversions were brought to light after much time... with the GIMPs running as much cover for him as possible.

If he is guilty of said accusations, he should go. If not, what we have is another GIMP and SAP smear job.

So... hypocrites? No.

That’s still the SAPs and GIMPs who lifted The Clinton Scumbags to royalty status... and kept quiet about all the perversions in Hollywood and the media... for decades.

Republicans subscribe to the Biden Rule... when a Democrat president makes the nomination in an election year.

They should all be put down like the filthy, mangy animals that they are. The sooner Kavanaugh gets on the supreme court and starts ruling against the Dems, the better. I'm so glad that the Scotus is now back in the hands of the Republican party. Hopefully, we can wipe the Democrat party from the history books.

Not a redeeming quality can be found in one of them.

Vile beasts.

Next time a Trump supporter starts crying about how people think they are deplorable I’ll just point them to these posts.

Very true, all the way. But Reid set the precedence for its use. If Reid thought that the Republicans wouldn't expand on it, escalate it up the ladder, he was either very foolish or thought the Democrats would hold the senate and the white house from here to eternity.

Escalation, its like in war, politics is war in a sense. You have two fighters, fist fighters, then one gets a knife to escalate the fight. The other opts for a revolver to counter the first's escalation. Then the first gets a machine gun to counter the revolver which is followed by the other getting a howitzer and so on and so on. The MAD principle at work. As long as there isn't any first use and abide by MAD, no nuclear option, there is no escalation.

Reid's precedence, his first use sent this into escalation. He loaded that bomb, then dropped it and now the Republicans are retaliating for Reid's first use letting the nuclear option out of the bag of political tactics and ploys.

Mark my word, it won't be much longer when the filibuster or 60 vote cloture rule doesn't apply to legislation either. All it takes is a first use of something new, then others follow and escalates.

The people of whom you speak are human beings, not animals. And you don't seem to understand the role of SCOTUS. The Justices don't rule against either party; they rule on the law as they interpret it. The hyperbole in your post is ugly and stupid.

I note your dishonesty with equating Garland's nomination, which was in March 2016, with the so-called "Biden Rule." Not surprisingly, shills use this argument to justify what McConnell did. Also not surprising, there is little parallel to what Biden did. as Politifacts reported:

Biden's floor speech was on June 25, 1992, more than three months later in the election cycle...

There was no Supreme Court vacancy to fill.

There was no nominee to consider.

Nonetheless, Biden took to the floor in a speech addressing the Senate president to urge delay if a vacancy did appear. But he didn't argue for a delay until the next president began his term, as McConnell is doing. He said the nomination process should be put off until after the election, which was on Nov. 3, 1992.

WHe’s clearly not impartial -- a reasonable requirement for the high court.

But Ginsburg , sotomayer and Kagan are ,right?

Does a liberal ,anywhere , own a mirror?
