I think you miss the point. its like rules in a knife fight. we can argue forever who pulled the first knife. I believe it started with Bork and then Estrada and Keisler. Democrats want to ignore that and start with Merrick Gartland. Either way neither side is going to return to the civility we saw before Bork and when RBG was confirmed.
Hmmmm... I don't think so. Conservative republicans are constantly going on out the rule of law, following the rules, adherence to principle, etc... and never living up to it.
There's a reason, however, that McConnell told Trump that Kavanuagh was the last person he wanted to see nominated, and that leads into why the Repulicans are stonewalling this.
