Dysfunctional or not (whatever that's supposed to mean), the Republicans do not have 60 votes in the Senate.

Damn straight.For a dude that stated his Presidency would be the most transparent in American history,one has every right to question as to why he refuses to release his tax returns for all Americans to see,as well as his refusal to tell us squat about his behind doors ass kissing with Putin.You'd think more Americans would be more vocal about wanting to know what went down in that meeting.

The might be a badge we end up proudly wearing.

It doesn't take a genius to realize that Trump has something embarrassing or corrupt to hide in his tax returns, or he would have released them as he said he would to dis-spell the speculation.

If there are skeletons hiding in Trump's financial records (which there almost certainly are), the Republicans will be judged harshly by the public for passing on the opportunities to uncover it themselves.

In order to get anything of significance passed in the Senate a party needs at least 60 votes. There are not 60 Republicans in the Senate. There's 51. 49 Democrats and 2 Independents. Senate Breakdown And that I think was before McCain died, which means that there are now just 50 Republicans in the Senate. Which means that they cannot even pass simple legislation without some outside vote. So, despite being the higher majority in the Senate that does not mean that they can just pass legislation willy nilly like the Democrats did during Obama's first two years.

Let's see if that WH personal physician can come out with a straight face again after the next annual physical and claim Trump is as healthy as a horse,seeing as he is now as big as a horse.

This thread is talking about what will happen in November if Democrats take control of both the House and Senate. There is no false equivalency. There is just you not understanding the premise of the thread.

They had extreme difficulty finding 50 votes for reconciliation. One year they did, the next one they didn't. Your party is broken. Exhibit A is how you guys seek to blame us for all of these investigations you are conducting on yourselves. We have neither the power to start or run an investigation. Blaming us? That's weenie.

They don't seem to understand that political winds will eventually shift, where they'll find themselves desperately wanting to conduct oversight of a Democrat in the WH, but will be unable to because of Democrats refusing all of their subpoena requests on political grounds.

Only then will they realize that Trump wasn't worth it.
