Trump rally chants 'lock her up' after Cohen plea, Manafort verdict - Business Insider

Supporters of President Donald Trump on Tuesday chanted "lock her up" at a Make America Great Again rally in West Virginia, just hours after Trump was dealt major blows in federal courts in two cases involving people close to him.

Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal attorney, on Tuesday pleaded guilty to eight crimes in a federal court in New York.

In the process, Cohen testified under oath that he broke campaign finance law under Trump's orders with the intention of influencing the election. The campaign finance violations involved payments to silence two women who allegedly had affairs with the president. Cohen will be sentenced in December and could face over five years in prison.

Lock people up, before there has been a trial, before its been determined people are guilty, before you get a jury of anyone's peers to deliberate: This is the chant Republicans are going crazy over in the face of Democrats doing the exact opposite by watching our justice system have an investigation, determining if a person is guilty, and then convicting them.

Meanwhile, Manafort is going to prison. Rejoice people, for in November, every single Democrat will have ads tying Trump to the creme de la creme that he hired to be in his campaign, and to serve as his advisers.

Other smaller Republicans are also getting implicated. This goes to the heart of the Republican Party, and it's very, very swampy. Basically Republicans these days fall into two categories. Crazy or Corrupt. (I'm talking about the politicians).

Low intellect morons will do the only thing they can or know how to do. Just look at the posters here still kissing Trump's ass no matter what.

I consider the "lock her up" chant to be part of the Trump cult liturgy. It's a quasi religious ritual without much actual meaning.

Crazy and corrupt is also a possibility.

You think any of that is going to matter to a Trumptard?

All the supporter's Trump is going to lose, he has already lost them. The unapologetic, die-hard Trump cling-on's will support him even if he shoots someone, in broad daylight, on 5th Avenue. Remember?

Crazy and corrupt is also a possibility.

And stupid.

  • Republicans didn't think that the Stormy Daniels payment was from the campaign funds.
  • Republicans didn't think Cohen would flip.
  • Republicans didn't think Manafort would be found guilty.
  • Republicans also don't think they're in serious danger in the midterms.

When it comes to politics, all Trump base in WV knows is 'lock her up', 'coal is king', and 'witch hunt'.

Not a very sophisticated bunch.

You've got to wonder at the frustration they must be feeling after electing Trump to throw all of their political rivals in prison, only to see their own side go to the slammer instead.

That's why they have Q to tell them it's all good.

So was this a "Trump Campaign Greatest Hits" performance? Strange that they still hang on to this when Trump went on national TV and said he didn't want to hurt the Clintons any more when asked if he was going to pursue legal action against them per his campaign promise.

The worst part of this all is a good pervcentage of the ****tards in his base, even if he goes down, is convicted impeached and removed, will just see this as evidence the "deep state" took a fine patriot down. I think no matter how guilty Trump proves to be, no matter how bad the evidence in the end, a good 25% of 'murica is too stupid to believe it.

Console fanboyism. Nobody wants to concede, even to themselves, that they bought a piece of ****.

I would scratch my head, if I wasn't painfully aware of how illogical human beings are. I spent the first two decades of my life performing as a mental gymnast in the name of religion. This is all very entertaining, and I do love watching the right shoot itself in the foot, but I'm wary of falling into the trap
of believing that I'm m immune to this sort of self-delusion.

In any case, I don't think that calling people retards does anything to persuade anyone to overcome their biases. More flies with sugar and all that.
