Susan Rice’s name is included on a list of officials who have criticized Trump, even though she has kept a relatively low profile.

WASHINGTON ― As President Donald Trump’s White House struggled with accusations of racism over his attacks on African-American former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, on Wednesday he announced security clearance reviews of a number of vocal critics ― and Susan Rice, who is also African-American.

Rice, who served as former President Barack Obama’s ambassador to the United Nations and later as his national security adviser, has kept a relatively low profile since Trump has taken office.

Despite this, she was included on a list of names Trump is reviewing to see whether they will continue to have the ability to receive classified information.

Reminds me of Richard Nixon's Enemies List. I think that this is evidence that Trump has one also. Suits his paranoia.

If Susan Rice was dumb enough to think that Benghazi started over a youtube video then she probably doesnt need to have a security clearance no matter her gender, skin color or opinion of the president

Hmm... anyone can be reviewed for clearance status unless, of course, they are not a white male.

As already expressed, once you return to "John Q. Citizen" status, with no governmental functions, there is no need to retain your security clearance.

It is not a birthright, it is a government signifier allowing access to various levels of confidential material not available to the general public.

IMO every official who leaves office should have their clearance revoked as a matter of course.

In any case the OP threat title appears to be false and misleading, as there is no evidence that "racism" is the motivation for the President's actions.

That's a stupid headline -- what does race have to do with this?

Susan Rice should be at the top of the list to have clearances reviewed, especially with the questions raised about unmasking of names in surveillance transcripts.

IMHO -- we need to get past this silliness anyway. Once these people -- particularly political appointees -- are out of office, they no longer have a need for a security clearance. They are not going to be consulted, and can always be given specific access if there's a need to do that.

This tittle is A very fine example of why HuffPost is rarely worth reading, this has nothing to do with her being black, which they know, but they are agenda pushing. .

I'm not saying it's racist. I don't believe the President is racist. Insensitive and lacking education in sociology, thus occasionally bumbling, but I don't think he believes black people are inferior.

That said, you're missing something. Sometimes, people figure something is racist not because there's proof it is racist but because there's no proof it could be anything else. In other words, via deduction. Thus, positive evidence is not always the standard of opinion.

Perhaps. But the evidence suggests that Trump is taking this action against all sorts of ex-officials...for example Mr. Brennan. Had he been targeting only Black ex-officials? Maybe your argument could be made. Since that is not the case, it seems the argument fails.

Who knew Omarosa would be the Straw?

Fails for me as well but, for some, context does not provide sufficient evidence of legit purpose.

Four Deaths Compared to a Decade of Bush/Cheney is quite the Quantum Leap, don’t you Think?

Typical failing false equivalency from you GOPs.

Her race is not mentioned in the headline.

Your **** is obviously better than my ****:

Criticized For Racism, Trump Goes After Black Former National Security Adviser

Racism and black have nothing to do with this story, and yet the words are in the headline...because this is propaganda not journalism.

Trump going after the security clearances is a childish, vindictive waste of time. But it isn’t racist.

People should think twice before they provide validation to racists by reaching to claim the President agrees with them.

Who knew Omarosa would be the Straw?

A few months ago it was the porn star ... and prior to that it was Don Jr.'s "Russia" meeting ...

Every few months it's a new "straw", eh?!?

"Racism" and her race seem to be mentioned. This is also done in the first paragraph of the story (along with a reference to Omarosa) even though neither has nothing to do with the story.

This isn't necessarily true. Individuals who have an extreme knowledge base of classified information, such as former CIA Directors, also carry with them their experiences. They remain valuable resources for future issues in which other individuals may call upon. For example, somebody like General Mattis, who retires into "John Q. Citizen" status, is still valuable to other Generals because of his intimate knowledge base of Middle East affairs and experience. His security clearance would allow him to be of use.

It should be obvious to all that Trump is personally going after select individuals to revoke their clearances for a vindictive and petty reason. I mean, he isn't even trying to hide it and people are still scheming up ways to defend it.
