FCC Shuts Down Alex Jones’ Flagship Pirate Radio Station In Texas

I'm guessing something along those lines.

Jones appears to have a fringe following that will likely come to his aid.

I can't stand the guy -- but -- it's an easy task to change channels. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard him on the radio. The only time I've ever heard him is online when someone links to a clip of his.

I don't think about him at all until liberals come here to bitch about him.

Sounds like the word of experience.

Most Definitely

The number of crazy, insane people I have had to deal with on DP has provided me with a lot of experience with Tin Foil Hat wearers. Birthers, Bengazhians, Truthers all nut jobs all wearing tin foil hats

That's just weird. I wonder if anyone even listened to it. It makes no sense to operate a pirate radio station when it's so easy to create your own worldwide radio station online.

Kudos to the FCC for shutting this down. These types of radio stations, especially in the middle of a big city, can cause havoc for other radio communications.

When I was a kid, I remember ham radio operators used to play havoc with TV reception for anyone close to their stations. It was called TVI for TV Interference. It was colloquially called the Tennessee Valley Indians. LOL.

Liberty Radio had broadcast the far-right conspiracy theorist’s show without authorization for years.

The Federal Communications Commission has forced a pirate radio station off the air that had served as far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ flagship in Austin, Texas.

The station, Liberty Radio, was also slapped with a $15,000 fine after operating from an apartment complex without federal approval since at least 2013, according to the Austin American-Statesman. The owners of the building have refused to pay the penalty, saying they are “not subject to the jurisdiction of the FCC,” according to court filings obtained by the newspaper. It’s unclear if the shutdown is permanent.

Alex Jones is like a plague.

It was not a station that Jones was affiliated with at all.

Except of course...

Talk about unfounded generalizations about us, who's talking about going to war? The Chinese, that's who.

I don't think the libs should be allowed to own guns. They might shoot their eye out. :lamo

We know buddy. You aren't a regular visitor to Jones' site, you just start threads nobody asked for based on what he posts on his website.

Alex Jones is like a plague.

When was the last time you listened to him? Never?

The more logical one.

I understand conspiracies but the motive needs to make sense and the action

The motive for any given conspiracy?

Your sentence seems to be incomplete regarding the action.

Motive is rather like beauty isn't it? In the eye of the beholder.

Logical motive

For example chemtrails is an idiotic conspiracy, as there are far more effective means of dispersing chemicals rather than from commercial airlines

Truther conspiracies go to far in trying to figure out how the towers were brought down, instead of the why, the purpose. The focus on nukes or planted explosives is stupid. Focus on if the US knew about or planned the attack. How it occurred is meaningless as to the why

If the US had a role in it, I would not be surprised if they had trolls around to promote the more crazy theories as a means to distract the more logical and probable theories

I don't like Jones so I didn't delve too deeply into the situation, but it seems that this fracas started back in 2013, when he said he didn't owe the $15,000 fine.

I don't agree with shutting him down -- unless he's breaking the law -- but it looks like his chickens have come home to roost. Because it's been made a big deal in the media, I fully expect some of his wealthier listeners to fund his recovery and reinstatement.

Uh. He didn't have a licence to broadcast.. hence the term 'pirate' . That's breaking the law.

I certainly agree with your position regarding chemtrails, for whatever that might be worth.

But there are many logical motives for the various false flags we've seen, commented upon by Jones.

The logic would be perverse as seen by you and me, but it exists. Profit, terror for its own sake, and of course desire for empire are just a few of the motives.
