Trump secures concessions from Europeans to avoid trade war

How about if we hold off celebrating this good news for the same length of time you guys hold off crowing about bad news? Say, oh, maybe 1 millisecond.

Yeah.
But really, but I would like to see some details reported by reputable sources and also challenges to those sources from other reputable sources.
Might be too much to expect that plowing through the anticipated reported dreck will make it clear any time soon.
We may just have to wait for actions.

I posted the actual agreement. See for yourself if you want. I'd quote it again, but I did that at 103

Link here - Trump read from it at the press conference:

European Commission - PRESS RELEASES - Press release - Joint U.S.-EU Statement following President Juncker's visit to the White House

Nor I you, so we're in agreement on that. No offense to you or any other poster on DP - I trust the data.

And what did your data show you? It showed you that Trump weeks ago was pushing zero tariffs and now the EU is considering it.
It showed you a number of things Trump has been calling for are under serious consideration. Is it that hard for you to admit it?

Look I know you despise Trump and it taints your perception. That is obvious by the number of threads you start on this forum with the intent to trash him.

Regardless of your efforts or anyone else's Trump had a very good day. Get over it.

alienating our allies in the process, doesn't seem "very Artful."

No, not at all, which is why I've admitted it several times on this thread. They agreed to work towards some good goals. That's a low bar but Trump sailed over it. Good for him - I'll award him a figurative Gold Star for effort!

True enough - IMO he's a disgrace and a disaster, and will do immense long term damage. But I'm willing to give him credit where it's due and I'm good with what he did today. FWIW, I start very few threads and I doubt if any of them have been with the intent to bash Trump.

I'd suggest a "very good day" is when we reach, you know, an actual agreement that goes beyond talking about something with the EU, but whatever.

Here is Wilbur Ross putting this event into perspective.

Well, you won't find out anything about it on MSNBC.

Here is another video of Ross clarifying points about this agreement with the EU Commissioner.

I heard the Junker himself. There has been a deal made. It's to work towards zero tariffs and they will be buying our soybeans.

Report I read didn't say any deals were made beyond agreeing to not put more tariffs in place while negotiations were going on, which is more consideration than Canada got while negotiating NAFTA. Nothing has been conceded, from what I've read.

Too much Obama on that one. It needed to be trashed and started over on Trump's watch.
