This is only one step away from treating meat consumption like smoking. Imagine mandatory "meat cessation programs". This is just one more example showing how the left is hostile to personal choice unless it fits their agenda.

The co-working company's 6,000 employees can no longer expense meals that include meat, and company events will no longer offer red meat, poultry or pork, the startup announced Friday. The reason behind the decision is research that shows vegetarianism is even better for the environment than driving a hybrid car.

The meat-free move impacts WeWork's travel and expense policy, as well as a self-serve food and drink kiosk system in use at some of 400 co-working buildings.

Kind of like refusing to provide contraceptives, or public services, baking cakes or banning abortions on the basis of religion innit?

So...a company shouldn't have the right to do this?

Conservatives are all for the free market...until they aren't.

Legally, sure. I just hope they communicate this during the interview process. It's a good indicator of the cultural Marxism one can expect when dealing with the company.

What evidence do you have to discern this organization's directors' political identities? Does the article state this?

I used to work for a company that did not allow you to write off alcohol. I no longer work for that company.

Cultural marxism....just another stupid hyperbolic phrase you are trying to invent.

....

One company decides to not allow it's employees to purchase meat on expense account and it's one step from how we treat smoking?

Hyperbole much?

They're not wrong about the environmental impact though - we either need to find less impacting methods of producing meat, or stop eating so much.
Or somehow counter the effects it has on the environment.

Pardon me , given the context, for seeing a bit of humor in this comment coming from a nick called "beefheart"! ;)

What evidence do you have to discern this organization's directors' political identities? Does the article state this?

They are pushing radical environmentalism. When an entity is radical left on one issue, they are generally so on others.

McKelvey said in the memo, emailed to CBS MoneyWatch.

"New research indicates that avoiding meat is one of the biggest things an individual can do to reduce their personal environmental impact, even more than switching to a hybrid car," he added.

And....I haven't eaten beef or pork in over 30 years!

Work somewhere else.

Free market and all that.

They are pushing radical environmentalism. When an entity is radical left on one issue, they are generally so on others.
Again, what evidence do you have of their political affiliation?

Legally, sure. I just hope they communicate this during the interview process. It's a good indicator of the cultural Marxism one can expect when dealing with the company.

When it enhances Right wing locks on power, you do backflips to cater to libertarian values but suddenly it's "cultural Marxism" when it doesn't?
Ahhhh yes, just like all your blind foaming at the mouth pronouncements about "political correctness" which dubiously ignore Right wing political correctness.

Examples of RWPC abound, would you like a sample?

Bullies need to be punched in the nose.

But, the right is always about companies having the right to do things like this...until they disagree...

Hypocrisy....

You're still free to purchase all the Big Macs you want on your own dime, yes?

Hypocrisy....

The Rght can speak for themselves, I have been claiming that employers have too much power to bully employees ever since the 1980's when they were allowed to drug test everyone.

The problem only got worse from there.

You don’t seem to mind when it was a bakery forcing others to conform when they wouldn’t serve a gay couples wedding cake.

You're still free to purchase all the Big Macs you want on your own dime, yes?

So if a company requires you to be a Muslim or they won’t write anything off for your trips I assume you won’t complain then because after all, you’re still free to practice your own religion.

Too bad the OP interjected the "Left" comment in his OP. I'm otherwise on his side here, to be honest.

You're still free to purchase all the Big Macs you want on your own dime, yes?

For the time being. It's a good canary in the coal mine about the desire to treat meat eaters like smokers.

But, the right is always about companies having the right to do things like this...until they disagree...

Hypocrisy....
Which is why the RW stuff of this nature needs to be fought by everyone, even conservatives and those on the Right.
