Among the revelations in special counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment of 12 Russian intelligence officers on Friday involved in hacking the Democratic National Committee was that the hackers communicated with individuals in the United States — including “a person who was in regular contact with senior members of the presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump.”

Although not named in Friday’s documents, that person is widely known to be Trump confidant Roger Stone, who has previously posted screenshots of his interactions with one of the hackers, Guccifer 2.0.

Who wants to bet whether or not Stone is among the next shoes to drop in the Mueller probe?

Stone is as dirty as Manafort. Perhaps worse. Both were in Moscow's hip pocket.

Correct. The indictment also gives us a good idea of the result of that contact. The US official who regularly engaged with the Trump campaign replied to the solicitations from Guccifer with "pretty standard" when asked what he thought of the hacked information which had already been released to a public website.

Unless "pretty standard" is some kind of code for "That's amazing! Can you get me more?" I don't see what the excitement is about this.

A known Trump advisor who, according to the indictment, had regular conversations with senior Trump campaign officials had an ongoing and active conversation with Russian intelligence officers responsible for hacking Trump's opponent.

But continue pretending as if that is not incredibly relevant.

I've seen that and the last two are accurate, but everything I've seen says Manafort didn't become chair until the middle of May.

With that said, don't mistake me. I'm not undermining your general point, just making sure facts are accurate.

The world has not seen such naivete since 70s porn.

'You mean, I have to take my clothes off to save the world?'

The indictment, Section 44, cites three attempts by Russians posing as Guccifer to contact an individual associated with the Trump campaign. It cites one reply by that individual and the reply was, I said earlier "pretty standard". Now, if you send me an email on August 15th, another one on August 17th and a third on September 9th but I only reply to the one on the 9th and then reply with a more or less dismissive statement did we actually have a conversation?

First of all, you left out this part:

"thank u for writing back", which clearly shows Stone (we'll say Stone, since it seems fairly obvious) was already communicating. Furthermore, nothing in the indictment says it was the ONLY communication Stone had with the Russians. But just from the indictment we know for a fact Stone wrote to Guccifer 2.0 at least twice over a period of a couple weeks and received three messages back...yes, that's a conversation.

Why are you posting so many lies about this?

It's more than just that, that we know of.

At the time, there was already widespread speculation that the Guccifer 2.0 account might be connected to the Russian government. Stone himself wrote a column for Breitbart on Aug. 5, 2016, in which he argued that Guccifer 2.0 was a hacker who was not connected to the Russians.

Nine days later, Stone reached out to Guccifer 2.0, who had been briefly banned from Twitter. “Delighted you are reinstated,” Stone wrote in a direct message, according to an image he posted on his website.
“thank u for writing back . . . do u find anyt[h]ing interest in the docs I posted?” the account belonging to Guccifer 2.0 wrote on Aug. 15.

Stone replied by sending a column he wrote for the publication The Hill about how voting machines could be manipulated to rig the election against Trump. Stone asked Guccifer 2.0 to retweet the column.
“done,” Guccifer 2.0 wrote two days later, adding: “I’m pleased to say that u r great man . . . please tell me if i can help u anyhow . . . it would be a great pleasure to me.”

On Sept. 9, the Russians used the Guccifer 2.0 account to quiz Stone about a document stolen from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee that had been posted online, according to the indictment.
“hi, what do you think of the info on the turnout model for the democrats entire presidential campaign,” the Russians wrote, according to court papers.
“Pretty standard,” Stone responded.

They apparently worked together for more than just that one line you quoted.

My guess is that Roger Stone has already agreed to work with Mueller. It may be to Mueller's advantage to hold off on making that official in any way.

Also, I'm guessing that while Mueller's release of information in the indictment of the 12 Russian military intelligence people was probably related only to signal intelligence. There were obviously other forms of intelligence gathering involved that Mueller did not want to divulge or clarify.

Regardless, what is most important is that Mueller has indicted 12 Russian military intelligence people. Trump, who even today, refuses to admit full on that the Russian government attacked the US and attempted to influence the presidential and congressional election of 2016 and has preferred time and again to believe Putin instead. We now know for certain that the Russian government was directly responsible. Mueller is making progress.

Not only does Trump refuse to admit full on, Trump, even though he knew this indictment was on its way, still referred to Mueller's investigation as a "witch hunt".

You beat me to this, as I was considering starting a thread on this very subject.

I'm becoming more convinced that Stone is indeed the Trump Campaign-Guccifer 2.0 connection.

Here's my post from the "Indictments" thread:

Alright,

... after reading Marcy Wheeler's blog (Empty Wheel), I'm now convinced the Trump Campaign connection guy working with the Guccifer 2.0 arm of the Russian government is Roger Stone.

It seems Breitbart is also in on this, and Wheeler has links to all the text communications between Stone, Guccifer, and the Breitbart guy.

Wheeler really does a yoeman's job on her blog, and in today's indictment article she provides a great many links to her supporting articles and evidence. Here's a link to Wheeler's blog, and maybe I'll get around to posting a thread starter on her stuff alone.

You may want to take a look at my post #17 above, if you'd like a summation article by Marcy Wheeler that has quite a few evidentiary links embedded in it, including the texts between Guccifer, Stone, and Breitbart.

From the get-go I originally thought Trump might have played fast & loose with rules, and perhaps did some financial or campaign improprieties. But now I am quite alarmed that our worst unimaginable fears have the possibility of being true. I hope not.

He's still insisting on meeting Putin, despite the implications of these developments. I reckon he's testing how far the GoP will go in backing him.

because the fillet mignon turn into catfish nuggets & I don't like bottom feeders, unless it's Trump ...............

I'm fairly sure the Russians started hacking the DNC in April 2016....or at least that's when it was first discovered. The FBI confirmed it had opened an investigation on July 25, 2016.

Here is what the media leaves out is facts.

https://www.cnn.com/2017/01/10/politics/comey-republicans-hacked-russia/index.html

Top intelligence officials indicated on Tuesday that the GOP was also a Russian hacking target but that none of the information obtained was leaked.

FBI director James Comey told a Senate panel that there was "penetration on the Republican side of the aisle and old Republican National Committee domains" no longer in use.

The only reason they got hacked is because they were stupid enough to click the link that said get a bigger sex boost here.
morons.

that idiot fell for a phishing scam but evidently didn't bother to read the 19000 government memo's that say don't click on links to
those types of emails.

So both parties were hacked, but only one had their information released...you're right, that is a VERY important fact when discussing potential coordination between Trump/Republicans and Russia.

well if you read the GOP part that got hacked was old addresses and things not being used.
So there was probably nothing there to release.

If there was then Steele should have found it from his russian sources that he was using.
So when are we going to have a 2 year+ long investigation into that.

I thought that was muellers job to look into Russian meddling in the election.
so far he hasn't indicted Steele, Fusion the DNC or the clinton campaign.

so i guess he isn't too concerned with russian meddling unless it is Trump campaign.

https://www.politico.com/story/2017/01/ukraine-sabotage-trump-backfire-233446

Where is mueller on this?

https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-...-commissioned-the-trump-russia-dossier-speaks

where is mueller here?

Steele relied on “a network of people, sources” that he had in Russia, which gathered information for him.

i don't seem Mueller anywhere. Why is that?

that is concerete proof the the clinton campaign not once but twice was involved with Russian/Urkanian governments to meddle in the election.

and we have silence. hence why this is a complete shame of an investigation.
you should be outraged.
