FBI Agent Peter Strzok Calls GOP Hearing On Anti-Trump Texts A ‘Notch In Putin’s Belt’

The FBI veteran highlighted a gaping flaw in the GOP’s theory the “deep state” worked against Trump.

WASHINGTON ― FBI special agent Peter Strzok, whose anti-Trump text messages provided fodder for congressional Republicans who allege the bureau was biased against Donald Trump, said Thursday that a high-profile hearing focusing on his conduct was “just another victory notch in Putin’s belt.”

Strzok, testifying at a joint hearing held by the House Judiciary and House Oversight committees, called Russian interference in the 2016 election a “grave attack on our democracy” that was “wildly successful” in “sowing discord in our nation and shaking faith” in American institutions.
====================================================================
Strzok said, '“I have the utmost respect for Congress’ oversight role, but I truly believe that today’s hearing is just another victory notch in [Vladimir] Putin’s belt and another milestone in our enemies’ campaign to tear America apart.”

Strzok said Thursday that Russian interference in the 2016 election was “a direct attack by a foreign adversary” that should concern all Americans.

“In the summer of 2016, I was one of a handful of people who knew the details of Russian election interference and its possible connections with members of the Trump campaign,” Strzok said. “This information had the potential to derail, and quite possibly defeat, Mr. Trump. But the thought of exposing that information never crossed my mind.
1 - Not surprising. Other than bad information there was no information to expose. But he did his best to work with what he had.
2 - the thought of exposing Weiner's laptop never crossed his mind either until the NY office forced his hand.

A real hero.

The only winner here is not Trump. It's V. Putin, who's laughing his donkey off that he succeeded in sewing disarray into the American government beyond his wildest dreams.

Exactly. And fools like Howdy Gowdy only serve him.

I suspect the reason Gowdy has such a stick up his ass is his disappointment at not being a big movie star after his early success as the banjo kid in DELIVERANCE.

Strzok is playing a victim. It's pathetic.

From now on I'm going to call Gowdy BanjoBoy. Nice reference.

Catch the resemblance?

I’m at work and thus have only seen snippets of the questioning, but Jesus Harold Christ, these Republicans are off-the-charts loco. Goodlatte in particular.

Strzok basically face ****ed Gowdy and it was glorious.

If you want a great analysis with film highlights of this hearing, catch Rachel Maddow tonight at 9PM on MSNBC.

I had a lot of respect & admiration for Gowdy back when he was a SC prosecutor. There was a Forensic Files show on how he cracked a murder case. Great show. As far as respect & admiration now, not so much any more.

Oh good...so he has the rat talking point down pat. Whenever you get caught being corrupt...blame the Russians.

The only thing more pathetic than the leftist tards using it are the leftist tards that have fallen for it.

He's never been caught doing anything corrupt.

Your desperation is really odd.

A grandstanding, showboating hack if there ever were one.

But...they all work because they all have been shrieking ‘The Russians! The Russians!!!’ For years. Rats peddled it. Mindless twats bought it. Sent from my iPhone using

Bought what? The investigation is still ongoing, and quite serious. 100x more serious than the charade of some mean, private text message from an FBI agent.

1. Trump was elected.
2. Republicans took the House and Senate
Clearly not all the rats peddled it, and not all the mindless twats bought it? But stll:

3. There have already been some 20 people charged, including Manafort, Gates, Papadopolus, Flynn, etc. Quite real so far.
4. The investigation is ongoing, with indications that it's going to tell us what evidence they have hopefully within the next few months.

So I don't see any sense in your position, based on that.

I didn't get that at all watching it. They made a phony, absurd parade of nonsense, then would ask one stupid question.
He'd then school them on it, often citing things from the sources they cherry-picked from. And none of them have to respond, like children.
Then each of the dems ridiculed their colleagues who engaged in such buffoonery. It was really sad to watch.

How about the Republican that asked him about the look on his wife's face when he told her he was cheating? You thought that was a gem perhaps?
Maybe when the Republican started talking nonsense about his own storied career, and how peter would never be a juror...what a circus.

If I put a team of 20 lawyers and an unlimited budget investigating you and anyone you have contact with I guarantee you those investigators will dig up **** to charge your acquaintances with, regardless of their relationship to the initial purpose of the investigation. If those people were arrested for collusion, you might have a point. As to the importance of the collision investigation...you bet...there are no results yet. Which is why all the mindless leftist ****s that are convinced of his guilt without the complete investigation and why those that don’t want to see the Clinton campaign investigated with the same intensity are such pieces of ****.

You appear to be forgetting that no one can just assemble a team of investigators like that for no reason. The had sufficient reason, and evidence...credible evidence according to them, to warrant a full-scale investigation.

Lying specifically about their relationship with Russians, when it's Russian interference in the election that's that's one of the key areas of concern? No, that's the point right there.
Manafort was trying to sell his campaign position's power to a Russian oligarch to pay off his debts, for example. As to the importance of the collision investigation...you bet...there are no results yet. Which is why all the mindless leftist ****s that are convinced of his guilt without the complete investigation and why those that don’t want to see the Clinton campaign investigated with the same intensity are such pieces of ****.
Papadopulus: After being interviewed by FBI agents on January 27, 2017, Papadopoulos deactivated his Facebook account, which contained correspondences with Russians, and created a new one.[31]
Papadopoulos pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to making false statements to FBI agents relating to contacts he had with agents of the Russian government while working for the Trump campaign.

I can go on?

You appear to reject the reality that there was evidence for such a an investigation by Trump's own deputy AG, a Republican, who appointed another Republican, Mueller, to investigate him and Russia.
You appear to reject the reality that people indicted and/or pleading guilty to that, were hiding Russian contacts during the campaign period, lying about it, covering it up, etc.

But you are calling the left mindless? Come on Vance, the writing is on the wall here in big neon letters. I wish the Russia investigation was the only reason people hate Trump, but he really earns his scorn every day. What's he doing right now Vance....trolling the UK, our closest ally who sheds blood with our soliders, in preparation for meeting with Putin behind closed doors, our adversary who just attacked us.

Good grief, it's a sad day in America.

The ‘reason’ was long ago lost. It was SUPPOSED to be an investigation into whether or not trump specifically colluded with the Russians.

That has been investigated for 3 years. To what end? A bunch of non related charges, and NO investigation into a KNOWN act of collusion between the DNC and foreign agents with the intent to sway a US election.
