Donald Trump arrived at the NATO summit in Brussels in an ornery mood.

He immediately insulted Germany, falsely claimed that “many” NATO members owed the US money, and demanded that these countries double their existing defense spending commitment to 4% of GDP. In response to Trump’s previous criticisms of the organization, European nations have already bumped up defense spending. But today, when NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg teed up Trump to take credit for the increases, Trump kept complaining.

I guess you don't have to act like a statesman when you are doing your master's bidding. Trump is doing exactly what Putin wants: upset our European strategic relationships. Vladimir couldn't be happier.

Only 8 of the 30 members of NATO pay the 2% of GNP to defense they pledged...

NATO is obsolete. It was formed in 1949 to repel a land invasion from the Warsaw Pact nations = the old Soviet Union.

The old Soviet Union is no more - it broke up.

The EU is now dependent on Russian oil/gas and becoming more dependent every day. Russia is building pipelines to the EU.

Europe lacks the balls to defend their borders from an unarmed Muslim invasion. IMHO: Europe is doomed to become a Russian satellite controlled at the end of a Russian oil/gas pipeline.

Ooh ooh, let me guess: Crimea was okay because they voted to be a part of Russia after the invasion, right?

Chief of Staff Kelly looked upset because his breakfast wasn’t great again, according to Huckabee Sanders. Kay Bailey looked like she’d rather be anywhere except next to delirious tremors.

The confusing thing is a lot of Trump supporter's talk like their are nationalists, some even ethnic nationalists. Putin is not a nationalist. Russia is an extremely diverse country, and always will be. Putin is an expansionist and imperialistic. I don't know if we should buy into the nationalistic claims of some of these Trump supporters anyway. I also wonder how they feel about Russian foreign policy.

Actual trump supporters, and not just Russian trolls? They feel about Russian foreign policy however trump tells them to feel about it.

yawn...

Sorry, but Putin does NOT want Trump to tell Germany to stop buying natural gas from him. That "master" thing is nonsense and Merkel will be the first to tell you so.

But what Merkel WON'T tell you is that Trump is putting a lot of pressure on her. He has exposed HER as someone who will jump when Putin says frog...or her people freeze in the winter.

However...he has given her an out. If she tells the EU to fix the trade disputes, the US might make her a deal on natural gas so she won't be Putin's puppet.

Will she do the smart thing? Hard to say...she does stupid things so often.

My thinking exactly. The only fly in the ointment that I can see is what level of delivery rate can a ship borne LPG bridge achieve and sustain?
Sufficient to Germany's demand?
Sufficient to displace the supply from the Russian gas pipeline?

Hard to criticize Trump being Putin's puppet and be taken seriously (yeah, right, like that's real), when Germany's former prime minister, Schroder, is far more so a Puttin puppet, enjoyed the soccer world cup on Putin's hospitality from what I've heard.

I don't give a crap about Crimea. Russia has a two hundred year old claim on Crimea. They fought a war with England over it in 187x or something.

We should quit fretting over 20th Century wars (cold war) AND engage ourselves in winning 21st Century wars.

Our 21st Century advisories will be China and Radical Islam.

Russia has more in common with the USA and EU than it has in common with either China or Radical Islam.

Russia is our natural 21st Century ally.

Russia doesn't have allies. It has adversaries and vassals.
