While this ever-so-slightly puts a wrinkle in conservative push-back at the quid-pro-quo conspiracy theories pushed by some on the left, this is in my opinion not so bad. If one considers the 25 the President had been working with, Kavanaugh is not among the most controversial, plus Kennedy likes the guy. Kennedy influenced the final outcome.

This would have been sketchy as hell under the Obama Administration. Under this administration, this story barely hits one out of ten on my rage-o-meter.

Walk back occurring.

Kennedy may have provided a list of candidates he thought appropriate, President’s team thought Kavanaugh was the only one conservative enough in said list.

Said source was not directly involved in the talks.

Well....this was a fine example of "hyped up nonsense".

Making it sound like a major-league conspiracy when it turned out to be nothing but harmless advice be given to a President from a retiring SCOTUS judge.
