Brett Kavanaugh, Donald Trump’s Supreme Court finalist, explained

So you find being a Progressive to be appalling?
See how easy it is to edit and smear?
Expect that kind of thing for whoever gets nominated.

You are twisting my words into nonsense so I will just ignore you.

We'll see in the future if he gets in. I'm not in a position to critique his past.

Why not? That's what we do here. You've already said his positions will send us back to the 19th century. Back up what you say with facts.

I was really hoping for an honest answer. Oh well, set the bar too high again.

Actually, it was an honest answer -- he doesn't care about knowing anything about the guy or any other pick; he's just opposed.

I will, as we go along, if he gets in. Discussing it before he isn't even ratified by the Senate makes no sense.

Well, to be completely honest that's why others think he's the best pick ever.

Sadly, that is likely true as well.

Check this out:

Uh -- YOU made the thread and commented what will happen if he's the new SCOTUS justice. Now you don't want to discuss it?

Might this be a reason?

Need to read up on him.

I don't see the concern there. Let's say this judge tips the ruling that Trump can pardon himself of anything. So what? If Trump is nailed on evidence and pardons himself, even his base will abandon him. It's frightening that someone would be concerned that Trump could pardon himself and remain relevant.

Not sure why you needed to start two threads about exactly the same thing.

I don't see how he is "a veteran of every conservative cause". He agreed with the Supreme Court decision on Obamacare and isn't one who sounds like he would reverse Roe v. Wade.

[whisper]

That’s because the ACA is essentially a Conservative idea

[/whisper]

As we go along if he gets in. What part of that sentence don't you get? I am not interested in debating the past. History is history. I'm not a historian.

You've already started the discussion about him. You made this thread with a link saying he was a "veteran of every conservative cause". You said to get ready to go back to the 19th century. When you're pushed to back up your opinions, you refuse and say you'll do it some other time. LOL! So transparent.

I don't blame you for pressing for details. He made the thread (two, actually) and claims. But presumably his comments are regarding conservatives and social issues.

If he gets in I'll be commenting on his opinions & actions. Sounds rational to me. We won't know if it's him or not for another 45 minutes.

I think he was actually very honest. He has no idea what this guy is about or what his opinions are, but he MUST be evil and ready to send us back to the 19th century because Trump is nominating him.

I am hoping he proves to be a fair and sound justice.

The apprehension is normal when you take into account Trump's failure in nominations so far this term.

That is a good reason to dislike his 'interpretive' thinking. The idea that the 16A (the federal power to tax income from all sources) means that if one does not choose to buy a specific 'priavte' good/service then they should be required to pay a tax penatly instead is a really, really big stretch.

I'll believe that when I see it.

This was one of the reasons that he was the one I was hoping wouldn't be the pick. I was hoping for Barrett or Kethledge of the 4 so called finalist.

I haven't had the interest to study him or the others. They are all bad news for the country. Welcome back to the 19th Century.

Welcome to the Trump administration, circa twenty first century; 2018.
Ain't democracy a bitch?

I assume you don't like him for the Supreme Court. If that's the case, why is that?

Because of "Truuuuump!", of course.

Never happen. "I could shoot someone..." That's a little more extreme than a self-pardon from a witch hunt, which they all believe it is.

Hopefully, we will not see.

no one has to twist anything for that to happen.
no one is taking anything back anywhere.

do you not understand what the job of a Justice is?
however before i tell you please tell us what the role of the SCOTUS is.
