Amid #ArchSoWhite controversy, black officials to hold second ribbon-cutting

I should have borrowed a wheelchair and a gay rainbow shirt! Then they wouldn’t have been able to resist!

Hell, say that you were actually registered as a Republican and they would've captured you. Its not everyday that you get a creature as rare as that particular type of unicorn.

The only people with chip on their shoulders are the GOP voters who elected a race baiting piece of trash to the presidency for the sole reason that they laughable claimed they were "oppressed" or "ignored" during the Obama years.

Proof of this please. I don't recall anyone ever saying that they voted for Trump because they felt oppressed under Obama. Blue collar workers did say that they felt ignored. But they have felt that for longer than Obama was around.

I feel so privileged when I face a harder time getting into college because of my skin color, or am turned down for positions for my skin color. There's just so much privilege I'm given!

If you're asian American, you do indeed face a harder time getting into college because of Democrats with their AA and similar policies.

Yes, when it comes to college, Asians are even more disadvantaged.

Well, the SJW cops are back again:

There was a time when women wouldn't have been invited, either. But yeah, in a city where blacks make up half the population you'd think they could've had at least one or two black persons at the ceremony.

I guess another thing left out is this monument has history.

A black man climbed it many years ago and protested blacks not being included or something like that.

I still hope that we get to a place where Americans see only people and not the color of their skin or their gender. I don't hold out any hope that the progressive model or emphasizing our "diversity" and what separates us will get us to that point.

I don't think we'll get to that place without some sort of social awakening...or reckoning.

Actually as of 2015 its gone down. Asians are about 42% more likely to get into college than whites. With Hispanics and Blacks far outstripping them in that respect. To the tune of almost 90%, though I am still trying to look up that statistic. So I would suggest taking it with a grain of salt for the time being.

At this point Moot, they would've most likely been called Token blacks and this same stupidity would be rolling on even more steam than it already is.

...2018 is really trying my patience.

Except that it is, though the problem isn't the party it's the ideology. Those Slave owners and Jim Crow Democrats weren't liberals champ, they were conservatives.

And I find your victim mentality amusing, especially considering you have a race baiting white Republican president in the white house who got elected largely because of race. Why the hell do you need a "WET channel" when the majority of T.V. is white? Or a "NAAWPP" when you have a freakin' majority white GOP who controls the government? Geez.

Obama got elected because of race, so what's your point?

Well, the SJW cops are back again:
It evoked the feeling that people of color were excluded. So were they?
Did they asked to be included? What's the usual cross section of people who do these ceremonies? Do they invite the entire bunch or just a few?

I don't think it was deliberate, no. I really think this conscious "Let's make sure there's a black woman and a Hispanic for the cameras," like we've seen with so many white Democrats in recent years, is a really cynical commentary on their view of race and equality. If it doesn't pass muster with a political consultant or focus group it doesn't happen.
