The majority of people in London were born outside the UK. So their actions have nothing to say, either way, about British traits.

Think of the balloon flying as displacement activity - Khan's way of taking Londoners minds of the horrendous crime stats for a few hours.

I feel no need to be civil towards Hawkeye because of his history of lies, delusional statements of grandeur, and his awful misogyny.

Oh. dear. The Mayor has the power to ban the flying of the balloon. It's a formality to make an application. He rubber-stamped it, probably with a smile, but hey, karma and all that for Trump and racists like him. Did anyone mention Mayor Sadiq Khan is a Londoner born and bred? A Muslim lefty (though a pretty bland rightist within his party TBH)

The majority of Londoners were born within the UK. It has a massive economic pull. There was a prediction a couple of years back that migrants would be half of London's population in 15 years, so we have a while to celebrate "Britishness" whatever that might be.

Its definitely an insult. The intent of it is pretty clear, and it's not simply to be a joke. That said, the fact it's an insult is of no real concern to me. So some people have a march and protest and want to insult the POTUS; okay, good for them?

So, Trump is criticized for being an ass, but other asses are ok? Is that what you are saying? If the mayor, or anyone else really, is pretending to have more class, he has a weird way of convincing the rest of the world.

The mayor and city hall approved the blimp finally because it was a part of a protest. It's not as if the mayor and its office are doing it as a protest from the office itself.

What I am saying is that not everyone is going to take the high road. When you're a jerk some people will ignore you while other will dish it back out; I wasn't making a judgment over which is right or wrong action.

Not really. What I find odd is that those who poke the bear get upset when it reacts. Trump has done himself no favors with the people of London; the comment about the mayor's quote after the terrorist attacks sealed the deal. The same goes for Scotland after he continually and publicly attacked the man who wouldn't sell his house to Trump when he was building his golf course.
