Michael Moore: I'll surround Capitol with 'a million other people' to protest Supreme Court pick

It'll be too late. Trump will nominate a right-wing conservative justice and the senate will confirm them before November.

looks that way. court will probably lean significantly right for a generation at least.

And he's going to learn that even 5 million people in a march means nothing to the radical right in the White House and congress.

Which party controls the government is irrelevant. That isn't how our system of government works.

SCOTUS would have been majority liberal for a generation if Hillary won.
But, she didn't.
Trump was duly elected by the people and no one, not even that corpulent, feckless, hateful, miserable POS Michael Moore, is going to thwart the will of the people, or remove the power of the Executive branch of our government.

I'm sick of this sedition.

Which part do they want to be irrelevant?
The Executive Branch.

Maybe Moore is going to run for president ;)

i don't want to have a discussion with you.

Why not? Afraid to try and explain how a bunch of unemployed people are going to strike and shut the country down?

They want to overthrow the government when they don't get their way. They're sunshine patriots: only love the countrt when it suits their agenda.

no. i only spend time on honest debate. i've read enough of your posts to know that this is unlikely to happen. goodbye.

Donxt respind if that's all you have.

The party that controls government could not be more relevant to:

-What legislation gets to the floor and voted on.
-Who chairs committees
-The results of investigations
-What laws get passed and finally;

The ideology of the SCOTUS for decades.

I didn't think my response needed an explanation, but there ya go, pardner!

...and one more reason I'm glad I voted against Hillary...

Oh, I see. You totally missed the point and obviously didn't read what I responded. Got it!

IOW, you only want to talk to people you agree with.

Do you still wonder why the Donald Trump won the election?

Yeah, we're sort of past the point where the will of a majority of the people is going to mean terribly much here. What will ultimately stop or sufficiently delay the next appointment will be some legislative mechanism we are as yet unaware of. And if that mechanism does exist, you can bet McConnell will vaporize it in two nanoseconds. There is one area that Republicans are absolutely not ****ing around on, and that's lifetime judicial appointments.

A mechanism did exist, until your leader Harry Reid killed the filibuster for federal judges. McConnell comes along and takes Harry Reid's lead and eliminates the filibuster for the SC judges.

Look no further than your leader Harry Reid for killing your mechanism.

Liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore says that he would “join a million other people surrounding the United States Capitol” to prevent President Trump’s forthcoming Supreme Court nominee from being confirmed.

“I will stand there. Bill, let me tell you something. If this judge goes through, for at least the rest of our lives, it’s a right-wing court. That’s it. It’s over,” Moore said while speaking on Bill Maher’s HBO show "Real Time.

Moore has the popular support & visibility to be able to do what he said.

Moore couldn't walk down the capital step let alone the capital.
He can rant and rave and continue to look like the moron that he is.

It will not change that trump will place a new justice.

Without even knowing who it will be, or what their position on the law is, people are condemning whoever it will be regardless. Does that really make sense to you?

You have to remember the liberal left has abandoned all sense of logic and reason.

See that is your issue you think the court should have an ideology.
The court shouldn't. There is only one thing the court can do.
That is determine if a law is constitutional or not.

Everyone should relax!

The Democrats can always increase the number of judges to the Supreme Court and add whoever they want- When they end up Dominating both Houses of Congress coming up in just about 120 days! LOL!

The Democrats have been leveling the playing field here in America for decades- and decades to come.

Not to worry!

That is precisely the attitude that caused the Moore comments in the first place.

Not an attitude it's a fact. They do not have the votes to stop it. Tough luck!
Elections have consequence's! Moore wants mob rule.... I hope he does not try that method. He won't like the results.

It is so nice to see some folks finally figure out that OUR SCOTUS SUCKS ASS.

Better late than never.

Well, if Kennedy mentored him then I see no problem. Kennedy often went against the Right.

"often"....?

He was the swing vote in some really important cases on those individual rights that were supported by the left, but overall he was almost always on the conservative side. I don't know about "often".

I can only hope but sincerely doubt that Trump is going to nominate anyone other than someone who votes the way he thinks lines up with conservative goals. He can get away with it given the current power structure, so he'll do it. I'd love to be wrong, as with most things I say about Trump.
