I thought the same thing when I read it. The only reason he sent those "Trump steaks" to Walter Reed Hospital is because he was trying to endear himself to (disabled) veterans. If he really wanted to make headlines, he should've sent them to "Feed the Homeless".

Come on, guys. No GI in Walter Reed Hospital is starving. They get served 3 meals a day just like any other patient in any other hospital. C'mon. Put your fake patriotic anger away.

The moment I read the OP I knew there would be people coming out of the woodworks like you rallying for the vets (of which I am one) because it fits a far-right ideology which is exactly what Trump intended. But if the man in the White House really cared about "his people" he would have fed the poor in the surrounding DC area instead. I mean, what was wrong with taking that food to a homeless shelter or multiple shelters in the area?

“All perishables donated to Walter Reed. Non perishables to be repurposed for future events,” Stephanie Grisham, spokeswoman for first lady Melania Trump, said.​

Great ... Kudos to Mr. President on that decision... It is time to put these diva's in their place. It is time for them to role up there sleeves and get to work for the American people. Congress needs to understand the gravy train is over. Instead of rib eye steak serve them hot dogs like the rest of the American people have to eat. Thank you President Trump for your love for the hard working American people. We love what your doing to drain the swamp.
Hmm..., Nothing like a medium rare steak for a job well done. Had congress actually worked together in collegiate partisanship to fix the broken immigration system, they could be rewarded with a nice dinner. Because people on both sides of the isle want to be obstructionist and not put in the work well... No steak for you!
Now the people at Walter Reed have worked. Many of them have been injured doing that work for America. Not only do the hard working veterans and staff deserve steak, they've earned it!

Trump's a billionaire, why doesn't he just ribeyes to Walter Reed every day. He could probably afford to hire one of the best chefs in the entire world to serve amazing meals every day, but he won't do that will he? I guess he just hates the troops.​

Cancelling it was a last-minute decision? Had it been planned ahead, there wouldn't have been all those steaks lying about unused.

I'm having a hard time understanding why people should be upset some vets get steaks instead of members of Congress.
