I'm not seeing this story on any MSM sites yet so I'm not totally convinced it's true.

Kim Jong-un has accepted Donald Trump‘s invitation to visit the United States, North Korea‘s state media has reported.

In what Mr Trump will likely seize on as proof of the North Korean leader’s commitment to engage in a peace process, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) also said Mr Kim had invited the US president to visit North Korea when the two leaders met in Singapore on Tuesday.

Mr Kim said it was “urgent” for North Korea and the US to halt “irritating and hostile military actions against each other”, the agency added.

I guess if there is going to be a long-term, binding peace deal then that little twerp is going to have to put his feet on US soil at some point. It'll be interesting to see the reaction if this really comes to pass.

Dunno, Jack. There was no news provided to the people of North Korea, in any form, that the meeting between Kim and Trump occurred.

Until Kim starts sharing with his own people that he is engaging in meetings with the US, South Korea, China, or any country, regardless where they take meet, Kim isn’t placing himself under any personal scrutiny or accountability.

In other words, if he’s not willing to stop the oppression at the degree it exist today, being a hardcore dictator will still cause him problems with democratic nations. They won’t trust him even if he’s claiming that he’ll backoff or shutdown the nuke program.

Kim’s secret diplomatic life and isolationism isn’t very promising.

I wonder if we will allow him to see Disneyland.

The NK news was all over Trump and Kim's meeting with pictures. The stories were highlighting that the US agreed to stop the war games, as long as the negotiations continue. Also, kind of interesting, it was the first time most NK's had ever seen a picture of Trump.

It will happen ... soon. Visit with Japan is already planned, too.
Like Trump said, things will be moving fast from here on.

BREAKING: Japan seeks to organize a summit with North Korea in September after Kim Jong Un expressed a willingness to meet with Prime Minister Abe, source says - Kyodo

I sure hope all the folks who were pissed off about Obama bowing to some leaders are going to be really pissed off about this. It's one thing to start talks with North Korea, but they have a long way to go before they earn an invitation to the US unless this administration doesn't care about the regime they're running.

Yeah, President Trump should just treat Kim like an asshole. That's a great way to negotiate a peace deal.

Yet you people called Obama every name in the book when he stuck out the olive branch and stated that he’d be willing to talk. Kim is a tyrannical and authoritarian dictator who has had his own blood executed. He tortures rapes and regularly murders His own people. No wonder Trump acts like he wants to stroke him off.

It's amazing, isn't it, that you actually have to explain to the citizens of Trump Fan Nation that Kim is, in fact, an asshole?

Not inviting someone over to your house isn't being an a-hole at all; especially if you just met. As it relates to Kim Jong-un, it would have made more sense to do so once a treaty is in place and they've shown signs of compliance and the expected changes are moving forward. He went from "Little rocket man" to being invited to the WH overnight and without having committed to anything specific. I do get a kick out of the "everything's ok" message Trump is pushing when nothing's even happened yet. It's reminiscent of a person who just wants to claim success but doesn't have the patience to wait and see what that actually looks like.

Did you hear Trump's comments pretty much dismissing Kim's atrocities? He said "Everybody's done bad things." Like, just what.

Ordering the killing of people is one thing, but to do so with an anti-aircraft gun puts you in an entirely different category. He's been busy ordering the killing of other family members too; one with a flamethrower. I'm sure he's a nice guy otherwise.

Nice guy! Great man. MAGA!

I watched clips of an interview he gave with Fox News. I think it was Bret Baier asking the questions (didn't see the whole thing, just a few snippets) and if I'm right, and it was Baier, he was IMO literally flabbergasted by what Trump said.

But remember, Trump is the same POS that dismissed Putin killing journalists, too.

It's obvious Trump wants to be a dictator because he has envy and admiration for the men who have the power and authority to kill at will. To him, what Kim does is admirable. Putin, too. Trump is a sick man.

But his supporters love his every word. They were already Putin fans. Now they're all Kim fans, too. The same people who tinkled in their panties at Obama bowing to someone respectfully. The hypocrisy is rank, and the sickness is ranker.

Well, he's Trump's new BFF. Trump says he's a terrific guy. Smart. Great sense of humor (I'll bet his citizens were giggling like schoolgirls when he was having them tortured and executed and locked in gulags). It's obvious Trump is right.

It’s sad and utterly bizarre but not that surprising when you look at Trumps core base.

Obama was apologizing, when he offered his olive branches. He cut sanctions on Cuba and didn't anything in return. He paid off Iran and paid them a ransom for American sailors that they kidnapped. He also pressured American banks in an attempt to get them to break the law (an impeachable act).

So yeah, I was extremely critical of Obama.

Kin is an asshole. Worse than an asshole. You didn't know that?

Should Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh and Idi Amin have been invited to the White House?

Under the rule of Kim Jong-Un, North Korea remains among the world’s most repressive countries. The government sharply curtails all basic liberties, including freedom of expression, religion and conscience, assembly, and association. It prohibits political opposition, independent media, civil society, or trade unions. A 2014 UN Commission of Inquiry found that the government committed gross, systematic and widespread rights abuses, including extermination, murder, enslavement, torture, imprisonment, rape, forced abortions, and other sexual violence. North Korea operates secretive prison camps where perceived opponents of the government are sent to face torture, starvation rations, and forced labor. Fear of collective punishment is used to silence dissent.

Human Rights Watch

Do you feel good about the fact that Trump will legitimize all the above?

Bucky, the citizens of North Korea knows virtually nothing about the summit between Kim and Trump.

They have been told there is a summit coming up,” said Hazel Smith, a professor at the University of London and expert on North Korea. Beyond that, the country's state-controlled media, known for its widespread propaganda, has said little.

The government has been extraordinarily successful at keeping the country’s citizens isolated from the tsunami of information washing over much of the globe.

The Internet is banned and the country’s newspaper and broadcast media are controlled by Kim's government. Reading or watching foreign media is illegal and could mean a lengthy sentence in a labor camp, said Fyodor Tertitskiy, an analyst at NK News, which tracks developments in North Korea. Only a few elites in the country have access to satellite television or the Internet.

Little has been said about the upcoming summit, and the state media have barely mentioned the main topic of the meeting: denuclearization.

The link you provided was prior to the summit. Most in NK didn't find out about the summit (in the media) until the day Kim left.

After the summit NK media reported some of it, including seeking peace and denuclearization on the Korean peninsula.

Edited for yet another link:

(3rd LD) (US-NK summit) North Korean media reports Kim-Trump summit

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said that the summit meeting will be held "under the great attention and expectation of the whole world."
"Wide-ranging and profound views on the issue of establishing new DPRK-U.S. relations, the issue of building a permanent and durable peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean Peninsula, the issue of realizing the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and other issues of mutual concern, as required by the changed era, will be exchanged at the DPRK-U.S. summit talks," the KCNA reported in English.

In an editorial, the Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North's ruling party, said that Pyongyang intends to normalize its ties with the U.S. through talks and negotiations but underlined the importance of fairness in building international relations.
"Despite the enmity against each other in the past, we intend to remove misunderstanding and mistrust through talks and negotiations, improve and normalize relations should the U.S. recognize our sovereignty and come forward with an amicable attitude," it said. "Recognizing one's sovereignty is a prerequisite factor in establishing fair international relations."

Many experts are also surprised with how much details their media provided and how quickly they made the information available. Far quicker than int he past... Which (some have claimed) could have significant meaning.

Though, I am not all in.. it seems promising.. Only time will tell.
