He seems to have become something more like a pathetic social commentator racked by his own bias, prejudice and hate.

Any comedy that is inferred rising from his partisan hackery is only a by-product of his intended lynch mob addresses to incite the weak minded.

Modern leftist political commentator comedians are as predictable as your average porn video. Nobody needs to even wait for the end of the joke. EVERY JOKE IS THE SAME JOKE and they all end exactly the same way.

Stupid, no. Misguided, yes.

Bill has been a great entertainer, for a very long time and right now I think he is just falling back into the same hole all of the more liberal celebrities fall into.

However in his defense, he and Trump have had some strained moments between one another. So his dislike of the man is at least understandable.

Well, instead of hoping a recession would get rid of Trump he could call for importing more voters from Mexico and points south. That seems to be the Democrats entire platform anyways....
 
Bill Maher is a fool and a simple political pundit who vomits his rhetoric from an ignorant place where his kind (Ann Coulter) largely hold conversations among themselves in the public's eye.

Besides...

- ...a significant reduction in government revenue (tax-cuts), followed with a contradictory and significant increase in government spending and,
- ...a continual effort to deregulate banks

...makes increased debt and recession inevitable. No need to "hope" Maher. Your wish for hardship on the average American, whose tax-cuts are not permanent, for shallow political Party purposes will come true soon enough.

The Democratic Party's entire platform is Trump himself. Trump will not have Hillary Clinton on the other side in 2020, handing him the election (because Democrats everywhere abstained in 2016 while swing voters rolled the dice). Trump will actually have to earn it by his record and that record is not good.

A coma patient is going to win in 2020.

Americans had slaves in a democracy. They fought a civil war and butchered fellow citizens in a democracy. Maybe your blind faith in democracy is misplaced?

Trump isn't even the issue, it's the combination of the right wing propaganda machine coupled with a percentage of the population that is susceptible to their marketing. They can apparently create support for nearly anyone with that. Stacking the courts along the way. No, if history has taught us anything, it's that all nations that rise eventually fall, and many fall from within.
