The article goes on to mention remnants of what appear to be animal sacrifices and then talks about the possibility of a sect called "Palo Mayombe" that might be responsible for stealing the bones.

How odd is that?

This Palo Mayombe sect (I did a bit more research) is sometimes also linked to child sacrifices. Now, as far as I've ever heard -- talk of human sacrifices is just BS. But, something odd is going on here.

Anyone here from down around that area that can shed some light on this?
