We have too much money in politics. Period.

    It's obscene. Period.

But it's still refreshing to see some of that obscenity used for principled causes in a nonpartisan way.

Bribery used to be a crime, and it doesn't matter to me which party is accepting the bribes. It's still bribery.

The Koch Brothers are not Libertarians, they are too involved in governance in return for favorable conditions that help them extend their financial position. Too much like crony capitalism to be called Libertarianism.

Why don't you go study the Clinton Foundation, they are experts on the subject.

I'm pretty skeptical about their motives, even if the outcomes may be agreeable on some level; I think the Koch brothers only support liberalised immigration in so far as they can financially benefit from it, or believe they can benefit from it per the venue of cheap labour. As a rule, I pretty much never find my views intersecting with Fishking's but on this, I feel he may have a point.

Also yes, this is a timely reminder that the establishment of both parties is very much bought and paid for (including by the same people looking to hedge their bets).

Seems rather likely those Dems would be pro-Dreamer in the absence of Koch ad buys.

    I agree.

The relevance of this is more in the implications of mercenary bankrolling from big monied interests than in the specific message; sometimes their agendas just so happen to coincede with positions that can be considered desirable, albeit for reasons that are invariably self-interested (for example, Google, Netflix and other SV corporates being proponents of Net Neutrality primarily for business rather than ideological reasons, which is probably the only reason it's survived as long as it has; in the KB's case, it likely has to do with the promise/potential of cheaper labour).

Libertarianism is a basket case of people who hold very strong beliefs that fall on every side side of a discussion, or outside the norms. I mean, they DO have a party, but it has no functional base because they are about as unified and organized as a herd of kittens.
