The supreme court has refused to consider appeals by the former Blackwater security contractors convicted in the 2007 slaying of 14 Iraqi civilians at a crowded traffic junction in Baghdad that marked one of the lowest points in the bloody conflict.

The court announced on Monday that it will not hear an appeal brought by the four men convicted in 2014 trial. They worked for the North Carolina-based private security firm then called Blackwater Worldwide that was contracted by the US government to provide security to US officials working in Iraq.

I would hope that justice has been served.

Erik Prince, head of Blackwater, is Secretary Betsy DeVos' brother.

Justice is being served. However, I refuse to being judged by my sibling's actions. Don't you? I find it interesting that you must turn a positive into another bashing.

What does that mean, I would hope justice has been served?

Erik Prince to my knowledge was not charged with anything?

Prince resigned as CEO of Blackwater on March 2, 2009, and remained chairman of the board until he sold the company in late 2010 to a group of investors.

Strange you have to drag the Secretary of Education into this??

I intended no bashing. Where did I say anything hurtful? 'Justice is being served.' So? 'Betsy DeVos is Erik Prince's brother.' So? I fail to see you point.

First, I made no statement that he ordered this attack. And I brought out the connection with his sister only because a lot of people may not recognize the connection.

what are you suggesting the connection has to do with...

sounds like radical liberal nonsense.

For some odd reason you appear to be adding a lot to my post that was not intended to be content by me.

You are reading too much extra into my post. Take it at face value & forget it.

just trying to throw in your radical left wing "connections" that have nothing to do with one another.

Private military corporations really just need to die out, their only purpose is to cause havoc and fulfill corrupt agendas for terrorist governments.

They both more or less carry out the same adjectives tbh
I would say at least a Nation's military can be used to protect people or be used for noble causes.
When has a PMC ever been used for a noble cause lol

Since you are being cute, perhaps I can clarify it for you.

Imagine if I posted a news article talking about a rampant child molester who was finally arrested, brought to justice, and convicted and sentenced. And then I mentioned as a throwaway line, that you, JacksinPA, were his second cousin, and left it at that. What exactly was the intention behind me mentioning your distant relationship in the same breath as a child molester, other than to smear you by association?

contractors provided security for both civilian operations in the Mid East and for some military operations.

That's why I will never work for another PMC, even a top shelf outfit. IMO, these guys should get the same protections that U.S. servicemen would get during wartime, if they're providing security for U.S. government personel. Had they been U.S. troops, they would have been cleared. This conviction was, at least partially, politically motivated.

PMC's saved hundreds thousands of lives in Iraq and not just their clients. Five PMC's from an unknown company engaged 40 odd insurgents outside Ramadi who were firing into a crowd made up mostly of women and children. They routed the bad guys and took 1 KIA and 2 WIA. Dozens of PMC's fought to the death, not only protecting their clients, but protecting innocents that they had no obligation to.

But those same military corporations and governments put them at a need to be protected in the first place

PMCs and foreign governments were the ones who instilled instability in the region in the first place lol. There wouldn't be insurgents if it were not for the foreign militaries creating this problem

That's like saying their wouldn't be any murderers if murder wasn't illegal.

There's absolutely no justification for the confusion caused and atrocities committed by the insurgents.

Most of the civilian casualties were caused the insurgents. 85% of the casualties caused by IEDs/EFPs were civilians. There's no excuse for that ****.

There's a brightside though: the more terrorists that showed up to fight; the more terrorists that got wasted.

LOL! I heard it was closwer to a KABILIION lives!

lmao no
An example would be if the United States got invaded from Russia and because of that invasion insurgent groups rose up. If the USA never got invaded by Russia those insurgents wouldn't be killing people in the first place and there wouldn't be a problem.

Who told you that? The same person who taught that "closwer" is a word? :lamo

Yawn. You're making asinine claims about non-quantifiable figures, you get called out on it and all you can do is whine about a spelling error.

You've peaked.
