North Korea Allegedly Released U.S. Prisoners Ahead of Landmark Meeting With Trump

They played barry as the moron he is...Trump's not so easily fooled...nor is he afraid to walk away from a deal that doesn't benefit America.

Well sure, remember who you are talking to...I get Trump, like to the point that there is not much chance that I am wrong (I mean it could happen, one only need remember that Trump tends to operate like a woman to make sure that a caveat is offered).

We should all thank the Chinese for making this happen. They are the only ones who NK will listen to.

And it is Trump who is not only putting pressure on China directly but also indirectly by threats of military action up to and including nuclear war. Since China doesn't know if Trump will follow through or not, they have been putting pressure on NK as they don't need any of this crap happening at their front door, not to mention NK's nuclear tests have been triggering earthquakes on China soil.

It appears trump wants all the credit...Even though he is NO where to be found in the present negotiations....Japan and China are now involved...WITHOUT trump

And you want to give Trump zero credit.

You post this as "fact", why not just say its your opinion.

That is all does , brag and run his mouth......Hopefully the Korean people will move forward without that idiot

Wrong...again. He has taken very specific and effective steps to get everyone in the position they are in now.

Still they move forward without trump...who just runs his mouth

They are laying the groundwork for the visit with Trump. Haven't you ever watched a concert? First comes the opening band and then the headlining band.

North Korea Allegedly Released U.S. Prisoners Ahead of Landmark Meeting With Trump

I've been reading talk of this for the past couple of hours but this is the first I've seen the story in a known publication that wasn't behind a paywall.

If true, I'm overjoyed for the prisoners and their families. I'm also looking forward to reading the commentary from those who are professionals in dealing with Korea to find out exactly how bad this will be for Trump and for America as a whole.

This just the latest illustration of how the President and his friends place their own personal and political interests ahead of everything else. It's amateur hour in West Wing again. Any seasoned negotiator would tell you that you never count your chickens before they hatch when you are dealing with such mercurial and extreme regimes as North Korea. Announcing this before any official North Korean announcement or act can send the wrong message and cause these people turn on a dime. The wise thing to do is to keep quiet about it until you actually have those people in your hands. Because as until then anything can happen. It's shameful to think that they may be using unconfirmed 'news' of these poor prisoners as political capital to deflect from the bad week they are having politically back here at home.

NK will not be giving up their ICBMd or their nukes, count on that. Now what have we won?

We need to wait and see what comes of the talks between Un and Trump before any conclusions can be made. Then of course, the ultimate test is what NK does during the course of agreement before we can say it's a good or bad deal. What's interesting is the same skeptics that complain about the JCPA (Iran nuclear deal) and how Iran can't be trusted regardless of the measures in there to ensure they don't, see no problem with North Korea who have historically reneged on previous agreements. The devil is in the details and that is in the access inspectors have to sites within North Korea, and their frequency; how much transparency allowed will be telling of North Korea's sincerity. Either Un had a "come to Jesus" moment when Mantapsan collapsed and decided nuclear weapons aren't the way to go, or he's biding his time to rebuild then renege on the deal. History says the latter, but this could be a game changer.

The South Koreans are smart and don't want to burn any bridges, so they're flattering Trump because he did bring the wild card factor to the table. I don't think however that the threat of nuclear war was something China or North Korea took as a serious threat; if so they must truly think he's an idiot.

The White House has reacted cautiously to the reports.

"We can't confirm the validity of any of the reports currently out about their release, but we certainly would see this as a sign of good will if North Korea were to release the three Americans" ahead of the summit, press secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters on Thursday.

The Trump administration is still uncertain about the reported release of the three Korean Americans by North Korea. But if it's confirmed, North Korea is really sincere about its peaceful intentions that have been exhibited in the past few months. Trump's tough talks played an important part in bringing Kim to the negotiating table and South Korea thanked America for making this happen. Obama was too nice to make provocative statements.

Do not trust the NKs, the obvious plan is to get the sanctions eliminated or reduced while giving up as little as possible. Think we might want to get used to the idea of NK having nukes. We pull out of the Iran deal and they will be next.

Or the collapse of Mantapsan. Remember that Un was responding in kind to Trump's name calling and tweets. The change of heart came shortly after their nuclear test site collapsed.

A person who thinks that calling another leader short and fat was an important part of anything has no business pretending to opine about international relations.

Are you familiar with Guantanamo? You won't be as familiar with all the other SECRET US black hole torture chambers around the world because you are familiar with the meaning of black hole.

Is that the talk going on in the bubble chamber? Koreans of the south "thanked" America for this because they didn't want the CIA to dig a bunch of trenches football fields long and machine gun them into them.

This was a condition that Trump made for him to agree to talks. Looks to me like Rocket Man caved.

Another win for Trump.

That was more than Cuba gave.

The back slapping and high fives among conservatives over the upcoming North Korean talks are insane. It's Kim Jong and North Korea. I hope things go well but generations of North Koreans have been fed propaganda that Nukes make North Korea popular and that the West and primarily the US are evil empires.

I don't wanna ****ing hear it. You guys gave Obama a Nobel Prize to the guy because of what you believed he WOULD Accomplish. Trump's just pushing the NK's and getting some traction and ya'll poo pooing it. Damn man.
