All I can say is, classy.
Agreed, we should credit where's its due, regardless of what we think of her husband.Very gracious, thoughtful and compassionate. Hat off. A job well done by our First Lady.

I can't believe that a thread that was warm and positive toward republican first lady Melania Trump at the funeral of a republican first lady revered by both sides has been turned into a tribal partisan pit fight. Both sides are responsible for tainting a solemn occasion and a generous gesture by the current first lady by deliberately derailing it into muckraking flamefest.
You know who you are and should all be ashamed of yourselves.

I would love to see the links you claim of all the media that reported this story. It would be nice for once to see Melania treated with a little respect.
Melania gave up her self respect by continuing the sham of a marriage. The woman has my sympathy, but not respect. She has been humiliated by her own husband, if she had ANY class she would walk. And I said the same thing about the Clinton scandal (as did many Conservatives) and Monica. I would be damn if I would let my partner embarrasses me publically in such a way.
Maybe Melania is just using her marriage to run for public office, like HRC did. You may vote for her one day, who knows.
Unlike Hilldog, Melania is it in for one reason, the PAY DAY.
If you were to seriously condemn every woman who placed importance on the prospective earning power of a potential mate, you'd basically be left with lesbians as the only non condemnable women around.
In this day and age, a woman who has to equate her self worth to what her husband accomplishes is living in the dark ages. And I do not know too many lesbians who put up with the scope of humiliation that Melania puts up with. Most have way too much respect for themselves to endure such public embarrassment.
You're judging her by your modern American standards for what women should be. In some Latin, Asian, and European cultures, it's not really a big deal for a married man of means to have a mistress. In such cultures, there isn't an automatic impulse to file for divorce in order to take 50% (usually more) of what a man has managed to build for himself, just because he has a sexual relationship with another woman.
Are American women, with their zeal for large divorce settlements, happier than their Latin and European counterparts? I don't think so.
My ex wife was English, she took me for 1/2, my opinion is based on first hand knowledge.
I hope Melania is getting some form the hot chauffeur, it would off set the fact she has to walk next to that joke of a partner. I don't know too many woman who would out up with that much PUBLIC humiliation. The woman needs some self respect. If this was behind closed doors it would be different, but its not. C'mon its not like she is in love with the Don. Why does she hang ? The pay day !!
A nice gesture from the First Lady. Mrs. Bush treated all the White staff like family.
... Your rules were simple: treat everyone equally. Don't look down on anyone. Use your voices for good. ...'Jenna shared a treasured childhood memory dating back to when she and her sister Barbara tried to order peanut butter sandwiches in the White House, back when their grandfather George HW Bush was the president, only to get reprimanded by their grandmother.
I will never forget when Barbara and I as seven-year-olds snuck into the bowling alley of the White House and ordered presidential peanut butter sandwiches,
'We couldn't wait for someone to deliver what was sure to be the fanciest sandwich of our lives. Then, you opened the door, scolding us, telling us under no circumstances could we order food in the White House again. This was not a hotel. You taught us humility and grace. ...

Ambassador Wilkins calls Barbara Bush a "gracious" host and says she and the President treated the White House staff just as they treated the King of Spain.

By European, I wasn't referring to England.
Maybe she does have a bf. Maybe the Trumps are in an open marriage. Who knows? Or maybe, as the OP seems to prove, she has a big heart, and practices kindness. Wow, that's a rare trait these days, god bless her. Trump is a lucky man, that's for sure.
