Me: Which would I rather have - a president who spends money holding state dinners to dine with heads of state, or a president who spends money golfing?

Also me: Well gee, I'm not sure. Which one is more expensive?

Me: Well, according to research, Obama had 5 state dinners between 2009 and 2011. They totaled a cost of around $1.5 million dollars. Total. For all 5. On the other hand, Trump's golf trips are now at 104, with a cost of over $64 million to the taxpayers. In 14 months, 104 visits. $64 million dollars.

Also me: Well, personally, I think the ROI for money spent per president is much better with Obama meeting with heads of state, instead of Trump golfing, but honestly, at this point, most heads of state don't want to meet with Trump anyway, so...

Positive coverage does not come from the MSM. They come from the First Lady's own Twitter feed and her spokesperson for the most part. The negative coverage comes from the MSM. Have a nice day.

They have been there, every day. Every time Melania makes a speech or a public appearance, CNN covers it and I have never, ever seen her treated any way but respectfully by CNN anchors and reporters. Not a single negative story on her that I'm aware of.

I realize you don't know that, because I'm sure Fox News didn't have a headline that said "CNN anchor praises Melania's class and grace during visit to children's hospital."

Newsflash: As far as I know, nobody in MSM has any problem whatsoever with Melania Trump, and other than some dumb story about her plagiarizing Michelle Obama's speech (which turned out to not be her fault in the first place) nobody has said anything the least bit rude to or about her that I have personally heard or read.

Sorry Di, I have seen on CNN and MSNBC real hack jobs done on those networks that trashed Melania Trump from her choices in Christmas decorations at the White House to her high heels to wearing her coats on her shoulder. And can you point to one magazine that has covered her passions including addressing opiod addiction in this country? Good luck in finding an article let alone a magazine cover.

I can't believe that a thread that was warm and positive toward republican first lady Melania Trump at the funeral of a republican first lady revered by both sides has been turned into a tribal partisan pit fight. Both sides are responsible for tainting a solemn occasion and a generous gesture by the current first lady by deliberately derailing it into muckraking flamefest.

You know who you are and should all be ashamed of yourselves.

And what has been very pertinent is the lack of coverage of what she is engaged in. The international news on Melania is far more covered than what is covered in the majority of the MSM in the U.S..

Links to the CNN trashing; I'm housebound and CNN is usually on most of the day. I didn't see ANY of that. (I don't watch MSNBC that often, and I don't read magazines, online or otherwise.) You don't believe anything that doesn't fit the view you have constructed for yourself without links. Please provide them for us.

Oh, and any edited film from CNN/MSNBC shown by Fox News doesn't count.

Please share some of that positive international news so we can see what we have been missing.

I have yet to see any article about Melania (worst being perhaps the criticism of wearing a $55,000 coat to a European summit) that rates anywhere near the attacks Michelle Obama was subject to.

She is a very reluctant first lady, who chooses her public outings very carefully. She is saddled with an very unpopular first man, and she does her best.

The right wing talking points include the victim crap, and we see that here.
