WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump hasn’t been able to make Mexicans pay for his long-promised wall along the southern border, and now it appears that Americans won’t be paying for it, either.

Absent from the $1.3 trillion spending plan for the budget year that runs through Sept. 30 is any money for the construction of a border wall. At one point, Trump and his advisers had been pushing for $25 billion for the project.

Guess what: no wall for you.

I would be surprised if they did. I mean, it's a wall, those haven't been effective since the dark ages. And last I checked Mexico and their citizens have access to things like planes, boats, ladders...

Think about it, 25 billion dollar wall, versus a 50 dollar ladder. Ladder wins everytime.

And, as has been pointed out many times here, most illegal aliens are outstaying their visitors visa, not wading the Rio Grande.

A wall worked fairly well for the East Germans & now the Israelis.

I am trying to find the item, but a full piece on the data grab from Facebook indicates that "The Wall" was a key phrase to motivate a certain class of people. "I will build a wall" was listed as one of the most powerful trigger phrases.

"Drain the swamp" was deliberately added to his routine for the effect it had, AND they knew it meant many different things to many different people, which is why you never hear him going into any detail about who or what in the swamp is being drained.

America was fooled by a computer app

Not America, only deplorables and otherwise decent folk who
are committed to defending a Caucasian majority a couple of
extra years, at any cost. Now the bill is currently coming due
and in fairness, average Trump voter will pay higher price (misery index)
than blue state residents.

I'm not sure about the Israelis, but the DDR had land mines and machine guns with orders to kill. People still crossed to the west.......

Wasn't the app, 'we' gave the information willingly. Mark Zuckerberg is quoted as referring to Face Book posters as 'dumb ****s.'

If you have machine-gun towers spaced along it with overlapping fields of fire and the will to use them, walls are very effective.

It wasn't the German wall as much as it was land mines and automatic weapons.

There were actually 2 parallel walls with a 'kill zone' between them where they had mines, guard towers, machine guns with overlapping fields of fire & big dogs.

I've been hearing that for two weeks, it's already been dismissed as a typical Trump asshole move.

How many Facebook people would have shared their intimate details if they knew it would be used to elect a sexist, lying piece of ****.

Pay attention, the lawyers are circling and that Trumpism ain't washing at all. I doubt Zuckerberg will survive.

I am so pucking sick over you people constantly defending this piece of ****

Some of your posts are on point and unemotional. This screech doesn’t serve you well. Might want to check my posting history. Partake in the ‘hour of peace and quiet’ literally and liberally. Cheers!

I'm shocked.

Oh yeah?

I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded.

You mean the DACA people your party previously imperiled by refusing to help and then threatened further when DHS sought to rescind the memo authorizing DACA without complying with the APA?

Ain't that the truth.

We need a tariff on ladders.

He signed it anyway, FYI

The Democrats had offered Trump a proposal -- complete Border Wall funding in exchange for comprehensive DACA legislation. Trump said No.

Now he gets $1.6 billion for The Wall rather than the $25 billion he could have had. The Art Of The Deal. :lamo
