I am wondering who is the director of HUD?? Ben Carson or his wife?? It's his job, it is his responsiblity

Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson told the House Appropriations Committee Tuesday that it was his wife, Candy, who purchased the $31,000 dining set for his office on taxpayers' dime.

Responding to a February New York Times report on the purchase of a custom hardwood table, hutch and chairs for his Washington office, Carson said his poor interior decorating choices caused him to defer the decision to his wife, Lacena "Candy" Carson.

Women be shopping.

Earlier statement:

"Mrs. Carson and the secretary had no awareness that the table was being purchased," said HUD spokesman Raffi Williams at the time. Added a HUD official: "The secretary did not order a new table. The table was ordered by the career staffers in charge of the building."

The corruption of this administration has acquired its own mass and gravitational pull.

Knowing Ben Carson, I put the blame on stupidity & incompetence.

No. The laws of odds dictate that stupidity and incompetence occasionally, if only coincidentally, results in the right thing being done. It doesn't spontaneously result in corruption every time.

I blame Trump for putting this guy in that position when he stated that he had no background in the field.

Knowing Ben Carson, I'd put the blame on the entrenched HUD government employee that was "moved" from her "commanding" post ...

Or maybe it's that Trump surrounds himself with corrupt people. We're at a point where it is no longer necessary to give anybody in this administration the benefit of the doubt.

This is actually The Democrats fault and the partisan culture promoted by Obama.

Many of Carson's staff is being blocked by Congress from being added on. Ben Carson is a doctor. Doctors are very technical. I doubt this man cares much of the furniture. If The Democrats didn't block so many of Trump's staff members, this would not have happened.

Linking Obama to the purchase of a table by Carson's wife AND talking about "partisan culture" ?

Oh sweet irony.

Amazingly enough, the "deep state" has now expanded its evil tentacles into office furnishings.
Apparently, turning the USA into a Marxist lacky of the New World Order got kinda boring.

I've always respected Secretary Carson for a few reasons. He's a brilliant and innovative surgeon. He's a true American success story - rose from the lowest ranks in life to be the medical genius he became. I wish he hadn't gone into politics because I knew it would ruin him. It has.

He should just take ownership of this major mistake, apologize, and move on. This shift the blame nonsense doesn't work for anyone with a brain.

It's the peter principle.. He got promoted to a position he is totally incompetent for.

The guy believes that the pyramids were built by the biblical Joseph for the purpose of storing grain and he has a portrait of him and Jesus wearing bathrobes and touching. Nuff said.

Bull****, Obama didn't force Ben Carson to buy furniture.

If Carson, the doctor as you claim, is so technical that he cannot oversee his HUD department, he should resign. He knows the rules and he broke them.

As usual your post is mindless nonsense.

Throwing his wife under the bus, what a husband!

He's learned from Trump to blame anyone else (even his wife) and not take personal responsibility.

Just so we can all take a minute, yes 60 full seconds, and admire this incredible piece of art.

So if the good doctor was at, say HHS, no issues?

???

Ben Carson didn't buy the furniture his wife did. I am sure you have done things on your wife's behest.

He learned from the best! Although I'd love to hear what Ms. Carson had to say about it.

Most real men leave the furniture/drapes/decorating decisions to their wives. Often times since the wife is not spending her money she will get a bit in a trance and overspend getting too mesmerized by the colors and fabrics.

Men will often do this because they want to avoid conflict in such trivial matters. The last friend I helped moved had no say in the 10k couch he "bought."

I would imagine a "real" man would have the balls to input some ideas of what they want in their own house that they are paying half on with their wife and the wife, who is also putting in her own money into it, would appreciate the input of her partner.

Sounds like you know some unbalanced relationships or maybe I just know some that are more balanced, where both people put in their own money and decide together how they want their house to look.

If your friend can't even input on a 10k couch that was bought with his own hard earned money, then maybe he likes to be dominated.
