That's one way of protesting Andrew McCabe's firing as deputy FBI director, roughly a day before he was set to retire: At least one Democratic congressman has offered McCabe a temporary job so he can get full retirement benefits — and McCabe appears to be considering.

Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) announced Saturday afternoon that he has offered McCabe a job to work on election security in his office, “so that he can reach the needed length of service” to retire.
Pension time needed may be available. Sure Trump would rage on Twitter.

Well, it wouldn't be the first crook to work in our Congress.
There are at least 535 others.

And one at the very top of the executive branch trying to intimidate and dissuade the very people investigating him. It is hilarious though to watch the right suddenly turn on the FBI, CIA and NSA as enemies after worshipping them up until November 2016.

It is ironic given that the Democratic Party has been the biggest force in destroying jobs with pensions.
Why are Democrats so concerned about the pension of one corrupt liar instead of the millions of people they have given a middle finger too?

I don't think it's the Democrats that support the ultimate right of corporations to **** over their workers any way they choose with virtually zero regulations of any kind.

Don't continuously support politicians that erode workers rights and redistribute wealth from the middle class to the upper tiers then whine about "the other guys". The middle class isn't going to magically make itself better by showering corporations with free money and no oversight.

That may be the most ignorant statement I hear or read all day.

I know it's early and the talking heads are just making their notes, but you knocked that outa the park, it's going to be tough to beat...

Our spies are a joke. They are always sure and usually wrong.

The ongoing attacks on Trump are just the doorway into the abuses they've perpetrating against the people and truth since forever.

Dwight Eisenhower spoke of a row of dominoes. 58,000 young men died for no reason. God only knows how many times before and after that we've been lied to.

I can't speak to the views of all people on the "Right" nor would I want to. I think that it's equally hilarious that the folks on the Left have also reversed their position on this.

What may we glean from the reversal of BOTH parties' positions on this issue?

Good. He already announced he was going to retire. Firing him days before was just spiteful and uncalled for.

Good to see we still have some compassionate conservatives around this Nation. As I enjoy saying, I owe you one on the other side of real life, with other ‘side’ being all-inclusive ...

trumpcons will love our spies, make them great again, when the next Democratic president is elected ...

Its not shocking that a liberal would hire a corrupt left wing apparatchik to help fleece the public out of $1.8 million. McCabe was a loyal soldier in the anti-Trump resistance and his misconduct is not only ignored by the left, it is rewarded. Bravo

Was due process adhered to in firing McCabe?

26 hours, a rush to judgement IMHO. Due process and his right to appeal, question evidence/witnesses against him was denied.

What is ignorant about his comment? Bucky is 100% right. McCabe is a corrupt liar who deserves to lose his pension. WHy do you defend him? THe least you big government liberals can do is demand accountability from government officials and fight corruption. Obviously, you only oppose corruption when the other side is doing it.

Except you and all the rest of the die hard Trump fans just adored the FBI while they were investigating Hillary. Your loyalty lies with Trump no matter the circumstance. Trump over everything, even country, right?

And lol "our spies are a joke". You guys get less American every time that dick head in office opens his fat orange mouth. If Donald started (again) attacking members of the military on Twitter you'd soon be talking about how you've always hated our military.

It is a nice gesture but what message does that send to the taxpayer? A person just fired for cause should be rehired for a very brief term (a month?) so that they can retire with full benefits.

I get it that resist, resist, resist means that whatever the Trump administration does must be attacked, stalled or reversed if possible but temporarily filling a job with someone (otherwise unqualified?) for no real purpose other than to cost the taxpayers as much as possible is ridiculous.

I wonder how many other "job for life" public employees are given a similar perk? They mess up badly in their current position so they are shuffled into some position with little or no responsibility (or actual job duties?) simply to continue paying them until they reach retirement eligibility.

He was investigated by the department for which he works and they recommended termination. Thats due process in the work place.

Was due process adhered to in firing McCabe?

Does due process include an unprecedented Twitter campaign by a sitting president to put pressure on the Attorney General and DOJ during an active investigation of that president?

This has nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with McCabe being punished for his own bad conduct. It is you guys on the left that are making it about Trump and ignoring the reasons behind why the guy was canned in the first place.

^^ This. What a douchey thing to do.

History will not look kindly on certain people.

Being fired days away from retirement or 10 years from retirement shouldn't matter, IF the reason was justified. How close or far away from retirement someone is shouldn't excuse them from bad behavior.

I think it is pretty clear at this point that Sessions doesnt respond to Trump demands or Trump tweets.

What defense did McCabe and his legal representation offer at his hearing before dismissal?

You just described the right wing version of "justice".
