Andrew McCabe was just offered a job by a congressman so he can get his full retirement. And it just

Really? The second in command at the FBI lying to FBI investigators doesnt concern you? You try it and see where you end up. But I will grant you that without knowing exactly what McCabe was found by his own agency to have done wrong, canning him in this manner seems harsh. But it also may turn out to be exactly what he deserved.

One word. "Nunes."

Watchdog group files ethics complaint against Nunes after report of House Intel leaks | TheHill

When the House Intelligence Committee is leaking constantly without any accountability, it kind of undermines any argument right wingers might make about corruption.

Yes, Trump has a way of injecting himself in places he should not, but I have yet to see anything that demonstrates that Sessions made the wrong decision here. Looks to me like he followed the recommendations of the investigators.

No way of really knowing. We will never see the full report.

That may be true, but it is a quite separate issue from what happened to McCabe. If you like, you could actually be the first person on the left to actually address what McCabe was found to have done wrong and comment on what type of person he is.

He misled investigators about authorizing FBI personnel to speak about an active investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

The differnce though is that Nunes and Schiff and the like are political people. The FBI is not. I expect political people to act like partisan hacks. The FBI should not and must not become just another political organ

He was investigated by the department for which he works and they recommended termination. Thats due process in the work place.

In some places it is like that. In the place we're talking about the employee is supposed to be able to present his side of the story.

It is ironic given that the Democratic Party has been the biggest force in destroying jobs with pensions.

Why are Democrats so concerned about the pension of one corrupt liar instead of the millions of people they have given a middle finger too?

Would you explain just how pensions destroy jobs?

He misled investigators about authorizing FBI personnel to speak about an active investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

So he leaked classified information then lied to the FBI about it. Thats pretty bad and unacceptable for the #2 at the FBI. If that is true, he is facing jail time and deserved to be fired.

Good. He already announced he was going to retire. Firing him days before was just spiteful and uncalled for.

It's impossible not to wonder about the timing.

Pension time needed may be available. Sure Trump would rage on Twitter.

This guy is dumber than a bag of hammers, can congress hire felons? Does he need a security clearance? Who would grant it ? Do politically appointed staffers get to ride the federal employment retirement gravy train too?

More than Trump will be outraged.

It was the FBI who recommended McCabe be fired. McCabe (and Comey) both lied under oath while Flynn lied only to an FBI agent. Flynn is now a felon and these a-holes are leftist heros?

Both leaked and lied and then with a great deal of puffery told us how the FBI never leaks.

WTF

Isn't that what Trump has been actively trying to make it into?

How many FBI investigations were there into Clinton? And yet right wingers only seem to care about the political independence of the FBI when Trump is being investigated.

What specific statute requires that?

I had a site the other day- now cannot find it. Need some time as we are going out. But I will get back to you.

I think it is pretty clear at this point that Sessions doesnt respond to Trump demands or Trump tweets.

I imagine 'someone over at the White House' was calling, tweeting the Department of Justice Inspector General to finish that report...yesterday.

A criminal conviction is not required to terminate employment. Where does the idea that federal employment guarantees a "job for life", absent a criminal conviction, come from?

True, but that was not the point, some were stating that McCabe lied under oath, if he did that is a crime

These are the facts: McCabe was fired for misconduct, the exact extent of which we will find out soon enough. And after ten threads on this subject, not one liberal will actually discuss what the guy did wrong. You guys are only concerned about whether or not this guy gets his pension and how to turn the story against Trump. The fact that he was a corrupt goon at the top of the nations highest law enforcement agency is meaningless to you guys because he was one of yours.

Actually, he is a lifelong Republican.

Well then, I guess our court system is just a waste of money. No defense.

1) You dont get a jury to decide if you lost your job.

2) Patience, the jury will be seated and federal courts have conviction rates Kim Jong un's justice system would envy.

So, at least, you admit this Mueller investigation is a payback to GOPs for the Starr Report? That's why everyone wants Trump to be questioned under oath so he can, hopefully, lie and be impeached like Bill?

This is what the WaPo has reported on 3/14/2018:

The FBI office that handles employee discipline has recommended firing the bureau’s former deputy director over allegations that he authorized the disclosure of sensitive information to a reporter and misled investigators when asked about it, leaving Attorney General Jeff Sessions to decide whether he should fire the veteran official just four days before his expected retirement date, people familiar with the matter said.

How would anyone know that? His wife is known Democrat since she collected a lot of cash from the Hillary-Democrat machine and ran for office as a Democrat. Then he ran the "investigation" of the machine that was funding his wife. WTF?

Drain the Swamp

That may have happened though. Remember, McCabe was forced out of the FBI months ago and his troubles are the result of in internal FBI investigation. I can only assume that the FBI followed its own procedures when it came to firing him. But if not, perhaps he can appeal.
